So things are going backwards now (likely due to contractions tapering off and not being out of bed much). I'm at 6cm, contractions 6-10 min apart. They're talking about maaaaybe sending me home since nothing's happening but we'll see.
Six years of infertility and loss, four IUIs, one IVF and one very awesome little boy born via med-free birth 10.24.13.
Heading home as soon as DH gets back here. He was at home taking care of the dogs. My midwife just checked me and I'm at 6cm, not fully effaced anymore, and I haven't had a contraction in 45 minutes.
I'm pretty tired and obviously LO is still premature so going home seems to be a bit of relief but it's also a bummer. Talk about a roller coaster.

Aww bugger. You must be exhausted both physically and emotionally. Hang in there, spoil yourself rotten.. And I can't imagine you will have to wait TOO much longer!!
Are they having you do bed rest or something I help keep LO cooking? Or are they kind of thinking you will be back in the next day or so?
LOL Both. I'm heading home on bedrest orders but I had three midwives and an OB all tell me they've never had someone this dilated/effaced go "backward" for long and the MW who walked the halls with me for hours last night seemed to think I'd be back by Sunday.

Awww man, I got really excited you were going to have your baby! But at least LO gets to bake for a little while longer! I'm glad you'll be in the comfort of your own home, keep us updated
YAY! Congratulations. I hope everything goes well. My DD was born at 35 weeks and 5 days and she was perfectly fine (no NICU stay), so I am hoping the same for you!

Been checking in on this all day. Glad you're going home to get comfy. 1000x better than a hospital and I'm sure LO will be in your arms within a few days. Good luck!!

One week and a few hours and he will be full term at 37w. I can't say that I have grand aspirations of staying 6cm dilated a full week or that 37w will make all the prematurity concerns go away, but for now that's my "eyes on the prize" goal.

The roller coaster is no fun, so sorry. Go home, rest up and prepare, sounds like it will be any day now regardless. T&P's still headed your way Momma!

How are things going since being back home? Been thinking about you guys. Hoping he/she stays cooking!
Still contracting every ten minutes but still barely feeling them. I'm sitting here in just a sports bra and pajama bottoms and really the only way I can tell I'm contracting is my belly gets all hard and distorted. It's been doing that for weeks though and I totally thought it was just LO moving around, so I clearly need to brush up on the difference between fetal movement and contractions. So bizarre.

I was just wondering yesterday if I was having BH when that happened or if baby was just stretching. It makes me stop and catch my breath but it occurred to me that my lungs could be getting smushed or something. My belly didn't look so distorted before during BH but now two parts of baby are always jutting out when it happens.
Good luck DT! Do you feel like a ticking time bomb sitting around at 6cm?

Yes! I hope LO bakes as long as he/she needs to...but I also hope for my sanity's sake that "as long as he/she needs" takes less than five more weeks. :P
