Moms of girls

Do your girls keep clips, bows or head bands in their hair?

Re: Moms of girls

  • L doesn't have long enough hair for anything but headbands but she will not leave them on for very long. It's so annoying!! I have a little headband/hair clip business and I can't keep them on my own child. She's not much of an advertiser for me :-)

  • She did for the longest time, but now we're about 50/50. If I can distract her quick enough, she forgets it's there. A bow, anyway. Hats and headbands are removed immediately.
  • She wont wear headbands very often, but she'll keep small bows and clips on if I sneak them on while she's eating.

  • Not really. Sometimes a headband will be approved but she usually rips everything off. I just bought some hair pomade to try and keep her cowlicky fringe out of her eyes. I hope it works.

  • Nope! Once she knows it's on, she rips it off.

  • Nene would wear barrettes as long as they didn't move all over her head. Headbands were a no go.

Her hair is not long enough yet. Pretty sure she wouldn't wear one. It took a while before DD1 would tolerate it.

  • never. nope. zip.

it's sad. I have all these pretty bows and headbands and no one to put them on :(

I guess I'll save them for her dolls when she's older. haha
  • C was ok with head bands at first but then nothing but barrettes were ok since she didn't notice them. After 2 she kept everything on :)

  • I wish she would...but we are rocking the baby mullet.  We don't have enough hair on top for clips.

  • Headbands: No.

Bows that clip in: Mostly.  If she is occupied, it'll stay in for an hour.  In the carseat or high chair, it becomes a toy.

What I generally do if I need her hair to look good for an extended period of time is a ponytail or pigtails.
  • I try to do barrettes but if she remembers it is in she rips it out.  I have to keep trimming her bangs so she can see.

I have never put a bow, clip, headband other hair ornament on Lila but I cannot imagine she would to tolerate it. That way it is a non-issue.

This is my DD.  i started with little elastics and tie her hair up on top of her head in one or two little pigtails.

  • Nah. Lately I've been clipping back her bangs, but yeah like other posters said, once she realizes it's in there, it's coming out.

Her daycare will put it into a top pony sometimes, which is cute. I can't get her to sit still for me, though.

  • DD won't wear any of them. If we distract her right after putting a clip or band on she will leave it for maybe 20mins tops before pulling it off. But then she tries to put it right back in. Silly girl.

  • Headbands slip off, but DD LOVES bows! She has a ribbon of all the clippy bows on her closet door and she likes to pick them out. She also has tons of hair, so I put a pony tail in her hair and then clip the bow to it.

  • She keeps a pony in, but headbands, hats, bows she rips right out.
  • You can only wear your hair in a ponytail once a week...so I guess you picked today...
  • She did when she was small but now she won't keep anything in but a hair tie that is either in one or pigtails. DD has a lot of hair so at least she keeps something in.

  • I wish she'd keep barretts in! Or anything forthat matter. She's got long bangs that get in her eyes. But not quite long enough to push behind her ears. Like pp my dd will pull them out and then pretend to put it back in her hair. So maybe there is hope fore yet!

At 20-week anatomy scan found IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Restriction), and very low Amniotic Fluid.  Now, I'm High Risk and have weekly ultrasounds to monitor fluid and growth.  If baby runs out of room or is too growth restricted, they will deliver ASAP.  My current goal is to make it to 28 weeks!

  • Nope she has it on for most 5 to 10 seconds and then she pulls them out or off.   She does try to put them on the cat however so I still have hope for her.  :)

  • I sweep her hair to the side with a bow every day, because it's well past her nose, but not quite long enough to stay tucked behind her ear.  She keeps them in mostly.  She's started taking them out in the carseat, but I just put it back in when we get to our destination & she's good.  She doesn't like me doing pigtails, but I can manage to get them in if I do it while she's eating.

She will still wear headbands and occasionally she will leave a clip or two in her hair.
