Just wondering did anyone else have to go through cd21 testing to confirm ovulation? My obgyn is recommending I go this month on day 21 to do both testing and an ultra sound. Husband is also having a SA. She said she's trying to rule out any initial problems, is the normal?
Background: off the pill for 8 months, ttc for 6 cycles, very short cycles (24-26 days) and extremely light periods. Potentially not ovulating or very thin lining. Testing is supposed to help determine.
If you did go through the process, what happened next?
Re: Cd 21 blood work & ultra sound
CD 21 testing is useless unless you are 7DPO.
Start with temping and OPKs. Running to your OB after 6 cycles of potentially poorly timed sex is a waste of your time and money, as well as your OB's time.
ETA: unless you are over 35.

Yes have been using OPK and charting. My obgyn does not recommend temping. (Odd I know) she said dpo 7/8 was okay for hormone level testing. Which is why cd 21.
Have either of you had the testing done?
If your cycle is 24-26 days and you have a typical LP, CD 21 is not 7DPO. The only way to confirm O is with temping.
And no, I haven't had testing.

I completely understand about temping, this blood test should confirm O but all of you gain so much more info that temp. It would be helpful to have it all going to this appointment.
Team Purple!!!!
I'm thinking maybe you should start temping before testing.

@ghostmonkey completely right based off OPKs my LP is usually 10 days. My OB wants it to be 14.

Think ill start temping and find another doctor. Thanks ladies.
Light period = I don't have much more then spotting for 2 days. for an hour or two may need a light tampon but otherwise I can just use a panty liner. That's it.
I def recommend temping. It's really easy and gives you so much more information.
