J9melissa Its a personal choice. Our two cats are our kitty children. We love them, take care of them, and worry about them when we go away. We treat them like cats, no human food ect. But they are our family. Some people prefer more distance in the way they call their animals, but it doesn't mean that the way you love them is any different. To each their own I say. Its all lovely.

J9melissa Did it come off as if I was judging or saying you were? If so I apologize. I was actually trying to say I see both ways of viewing the issue of calling your pets your children or just your pets and I find them both perfectly lovely.

Pic is in my sig, but for you mobile mamas, this is our Moosey. She acts like a little person and loves to snuggle right in between us under the covers.
This is our Pit Bull "Pretty Girl" (aka "P.G." aka "Rooney"). A good friend rescued her from a bad situation in college, but when he joined the Navy, he needed a good home for her. She kind of just fell into my lap and everyone fell in love with her.
She's almost 7yrs old now but still holds her own with a crazy 2 yr. old lab and still manages to keep the pests (rabbits, snakes, moles) out of our back yard.
Here are my two pugs and our three legged boxer! From left to right, Polly, AJ, and Jack! They were all on my yoga mat while I was trying to work out one day.
This is Oscar (he's also in my profile pic) he's doing his best "you don't really want to leave me do you?" Face. And this is Daisy fresh from her bath! Our dogs are our babies. We treat them like babies and even tend to make up dialogue for them. (Yes we're dorks)
Shadow is my baby, he is 3 and always right by me. Diddle is a brat, but cute. She is almost 2. The critters I rescued from a cage at a Feed store. They are a couple months younger than diddle.
Everyone's babies are adorable and I LOVE the name Wellington! This is my American Pit Bull Terrier named Odyssey. She is my heart! Such a wonderful dog in every way. I also have a fid (feathered kid!) named Toby. He is very silly and I have a notebook of his vocabulary! They are very special to me and I look forward to teaching my incoming baby the beauty of an animal's love and bond.

Here are mine. First is Harley the cat (With popcorn on her), then Guinness the (not modest) cat, and lastly Hoss, the 120 lb Golden retriever.
Sorry for the giant photo!
