  • LO is 3 weeks and 3 days old. We are exhausted. He is very congested - to the point it is affecting him eating and sleeping. We've done everything we can think of for him so I will probably surrender and call his pedi in a few minutes. I just hate the thought of giving him an antibiotic....

Other than that, LO is great. He is gaining weight and bfing like a CHAMP!

Bfing is going very well so far. As always, I am nervous my supply will get messed up, but so far it has been great. LO got his first bottle last night and it went well. I just hope he does not regress at all on the boob once he gets used to his daily bottle....

My 21 month old is doing better than he was. We are all adjusting. Today has been an excellent day so far!
  • My 2 week old had his first check up today and is doing great. He is past his birth weight so I'm relieved to know he's getting enough breast milk.

I am having major postpartum perineum pain. I had a really bad tear and the stitches are killing me. I didn't have bad hemorrhoids while pregnant but man they are wicked right now. Actually going in to see my doctor this afternoon to see how things are healing and maybe get some pain meds. I just can't hardly stand it anymore, and I really just want to enjoy this time with my newborn!

  • My RCS is friday and I'm counting down the hours! My plan for the week is to stay busy and take as many naps as possible :)

  • Still pregnant here. 40 weeks 6 days and don't see my doc again until thursday. Trying to be patient, but the back pain is frustrating as it's been two weeks of pain now that makes it challenging to walk. Just crossing my fingers and hoping for an arrival sooner rather than later!

Congrats to all you new moms! Your posts are very informative and I'm trying to learn from all of you before this LO comes.
  • We are doing great here.  LO is 2 weeks old tomorrow. The first week was really rough with the lack of sleep, c-section recovery and constant visitors. Now that we are adjusting to having her home and being more anti-social (haha) everything is much better. :)
She's back to her birth weight and BFing is going really well!

  • Alexis will be 6 weeks old Thursday. Today is my husbands birthday.

It's been rough for me. I had to go back to work after one week off - I still had my staples in. So I never really hot to rest up. It's slowly getting better. She has been sleeping longer thankfully.

  • LO is 2 weeks and 6 days. I can't believe how fast it's going already!

Things are going pretty good. She was a really easy baby, but Saturday night and yesterday she turned into a pumpkin. Just super fussy. Wants to be held. But not like that. Like this. Nevermind, not like that. Like this instead. That's nice. Oh wait, no it isn't. I hate not knowing what will soothe her!

Breastfeeding is going pretty well. Still sore nips but she eats like a champ and as of last Tuesday (2 week appt) she had gained a pound. They will weigh her when I go to a breastfeeding support group on Wednesday, so I'm looking forward to seeing how much more she has gained. She definitely looks like she is filling out.

  • EDD is this thursday.  I'm still at work.

  • Had a RCS and tubal on Friday. Had a rough couple of days but we came home from the hospital last night. Getting around is getting easier but I'm still really sore. Baby is nursing amazingly but my nipples are Killing me. Hopefully I get past it quicker than the last time. My 22 month old is warming up to having a new little brother. At first he wanted nothing to do with him.
  • DS is 2 weeks 2 days old. I'm exhausted and emotionally spent. I keep trying to decide when it changes from baby blues to ppd.

He seems to be doing ok. His baby acne just started and his poor face looks so rough. He is still not latching to breast at all and still struggles at times too latch onto a bottle. He gets so frustrated when he can't figure it out and so do I. I'm pumping, but he's still getting mostly formula. I can't seem to up my production.

He's had a rough morning. Just crying and fussing all day unless I'm holding him. Makes for one very tired momma. I'm on day 4 of headache, and it's wearing on me. I still haven't got much of an appetite, which might be part of why I'm almost back to prepregnancy weight.

Overall, he's still doing alright. I'm struggling and DH is going through a rough time right now with him. I hope everything calms down soon, for all of us.

  • Still pregnant, 41w 1d, and trying to make the right call about induction. I have one on the books for tomorrow night because I was having some blood pressure creep, but my BP has been much better at my last 2 checks. I have an OB appt tomorrow to see how he looks and talk about whether induction is medically necessary at this point or if I can put it off for a few more days and see if he'll come on his own. But man am I getting uncomfortable.
  • LO is 17 days old today and life is feeling great the last couple of days. We have found a little groove and he is just a content, sweet baby. After making the decision to quit BFing, I wasn't as hard on myself and DS was eating much better. My baby blues are going away and I put make up on today! If he slept more in the night I'd be even better... :)

  • Alexis is 11 days old. She's such a sweet, calm baby and is sleeping 3-4 hour stretches at night so I'm feeling pretty good. The girl loves to eat! She is FF. My 19 mo old likes her sister for the most part, but has her jealous moments. All in all, two under 2 is going better then expected!

  • LO is 11 days old today! I had a c-section and am feeling pretty good, my fiance went back to work today so it was the first day with just her and I here at home. I think it went awesome, I didn't do much besides feed and play with her but it's been fun! We had pictures done yesterday as well and I can't wait to see how those turn out, she did so well!

We had a ton of issues bf-ing so we are on just formula now, soy actually, since she had issues with really excessive spit up. She is doing much better now and has been sleeping about 4 hours between night time feedings. My MIL is coming tonight to give us a break on the night shift. I don't really think it's necessary but it will be nice for us to get a full night's sleep, especially for my fiance since he's back to work now. We'll see how it goes!

Congratulations to everyone with new LO's and hang in there to all of you who are still waiting, you'll have your outside babies soon enough! :)
  • Garrett is a week old today and we are doing great!

I did drop my EMT class and I will have a spot in the next class. (This was not baby related though). It makes things a little less stressful.

  • It's been going well here. Zoey has her first pedi appointment tomorrow. I don't know if she is going through a growth spurt or if my milk supply has stopped being enough because starting last night she has been only going two hours max between feelings (sometimes less than that). She seems satisfied when she eats so I'm leaning toward growth spurt but we'll see what the dr says tomorrow.
  • @i2002pooh - do you know what doc will be on call on Sunday? That was a great day to have a baby. Most docs don't s schedule inductions /c sections for weekends so the floor was super quiet when I was there. Just me and another woman.

As for me, DS is 4w 1d. I can't believe my baby will be a month old on Wednesday! He has his 1m ped appt tomorrow night.

I'm feeling like an all you can eat buffet. DS has been nursing every hour. It's crazy. But he's latching. Sometimes better then others. Last night he spit up blood which scared me but it was an isolated incident and the nurse at the call center said I probably have a cracked nipple and if he was nursing too vigorously he could have sucked blood out of it. I pumped overnight to give it a chance to heal and make sure he wasn't spitting more up when not nursing.

Other than that I'm just tired today.

  • 41 weeks today with induction scheduled tomorrow. Lots of false labor over the weekend. Was hoping he'd come on his own but at this point as long as he is healthy I'm okay with it.
  • I was due last Wednesday. I'll go in this Wednesday AM to be induced if he doesn't show up before then. I'm excited about having an end in sight, but I just got a colossal case of the nerves and I've turned into a big weenie. It's not like I can chicken out now, this is going to happen! Red Raspberry leaf tea really jump started my contractions last night so I'm going to take a nap and then try that again.

  • LO is 14 days old today and tomorrow was my EDD. Idk why but it had made me emotional! CheyLynn is doing great - back to birth weight today. Bf'ing like a champ and not a fussy baby *knock on wood*.

I feel pretty good overall - could use a little more sleep, but who couldn't. 4 lbs up from pre-pregnancy and back in my regular clothes, but the mark of motherhood is definitely upon me with the squishy belly and stretch marks.

Good luck to all you mommies with inside babies - luckily you can't stay pregnant forever and you will be holding yours before you know it! I know it's uncomfortable, but try to enjoy some aspect of each day. I was so surprised my LO came early that I didn't really have time to come to process the fact that she was here!
  • LO is one week today and at his pedi appointment we found out he's already up a pound! I now have no doubts he's getting enough to eat!

Still having discomfort and pain from my stitches, but I definitely feel improvement.

Actually put on some makeup and we stopped at Panera's on the way home from the doctor. I almost feel like a normal person, again!

  • Edd is Saturday. Hoping baby will come soon!
  • @ocnfish4 I'm so sorry to hear things are going kind of rough. I hope things get easier for you.
  • Been in l&d since 7 am it's now 3:10pm. Pitocin is starting to work lol moved one whole centimeter in 5 hours-!!! As long as I walk I get contractions but it seems it's gonna be 90% back labor. And I'm making a list of food I must have in my room post baby lol come on baby get outta there lol I want to see my feet again! And my nurses said no hard candy :( lame!

  • Gwyneth is 2 weeks and 4 days old today. She is doing great, and we have gotten into a routine. Since H is a night owl he takes the nighttime feedings, and I take the morning feedings and let him sleep in.
I'm nervous for when we go back to work because it means finding a new routine. I try not to think about it but it's pretty hard not to.
My baby blues are gone. I think getting out and keeping busy has definitely helped with that.
I still get scared of doing things wrong but I have to tell myself that we are doing a good job.
  • LO will be 4 weeks on Wednesday. He just started sleeping for one long stretch of 4 hours between feeding at night and is 2.5-3 hours between his other feedings. My incision is still tender and even a long shopping session can have me feeling wiped out. DH only takes 1 feeding a night and I don't always get a nap during the day. 4 hours of sleep is not enough! LO wants to be held most of the time and putting him down to sleep can cause him to wake up. Mama is getting little sleep, but LO is healthy and eats like a horse.

LO arrived 4 days before EDD. gave birth at 39w3d, had the natural unmedicated birth that i wanted (i posted my birth story). LO is healthy and alert, but we've been in and out of the hospital and lab due to his high bilirubin level. :( not fun. he got hospitalized for phototherapy and we're still continuing treatment at home with a bili blanket. also had a scare with a possible umbilical cord infection, but all is well. it finally fell off yesterday. what a huge relief!

LO in fairly easy, at 1 week 2 days old. i LOVE attachment parenting. his cues are very easy to read. we can tell when his diaper needs to be changed (he can feel that it is wet/soiled because we are cloth diapering), when he is hungry (we read his cues before he cries now), and when he needs a burping or needs to let out a fart (he squirms and makes this old man wrinkly face). other than that, that's about all he does. he sleeps about 1-2 hours during the day, and about 3 hours during the night. he feeds often, nursing is going well, though i was doing it wrong the first 2 days. i was so sore and scabbing! now things are great, and i'm actually overproducing. i've already begun to collect milk for work without even pumping. just from leakage from the other boob, i've collected a 2 oz. container a day. i have 3 stored in the freezer.

i'll be giving my LO his first sponge bath today. ah! his top layer skin is peeling all over the place and he just peed on himself during the last diaper change. i wiped him down but i really wanna make sure he's clean, and he's due for a bath anyway.

my hormones are a little bonkers. i've already cried a few times from various emotions, and i rarely cry and am far from an emotional person. so weird. i've also been going stir crazy and just wish i could get out. my DH said i can make a target run today. yay! i totally need to take care of this boob situation. need nursing tanks, more nursing bras (have only 1 and these sports bras are too tight), and nursing pads. can't wait to get out! wheeee~!!

and thank goodness for peri bottles, witch hazel, and stool softeners!
  • LO is 1 week 5 days old he is amazing. Breastfeesibg like a pro and barely cries, when he does it's it a second then he's done. He sleeps 3 hour stretches then wants to eat. We have 2 week check up this Wednesday so we will know how much weight he gained.
I've been feeling some anxiety and baby blues creeping up a little but I've been able to focus on the positive. My husband and I haven't been getting along so that doesn't help, but my older children have been so helpful and they are smitten with their little brother :)
All in all the 3rd time around seems to be a smoother transition, even though my last child was born 8 years ago, it's almost like riding a bike... Almost.

Thank you. Half my class was dropped due to test scores. I was doing great, struggling a little but was pulling through. Airway management is a beast lol. But it will be great when the next class starts

  • Things are going ok here. My MIL left last Friday after being here for 3 weeks so I was in a bit of a panic about handling everything myself, but we're getting by.  I wish DS would sleep a little longer at night, but we'll get there.  We got one almost 5 hour stretch out of him the other night, but last night was pretty much two hour chunks of sleep.  Hopefully he'll be like DS1 and start sleeping longer stretches in the next couple weeks.

  • Glad to hear we are all surviving going past due dates or being exhausted or both!
  • I am 41 weeks with an induction set for Monday via foley cath. I am terribly anxious and just trying to breathe/relax.
  • Emily will be 2 weeks old tomorrow. We went to her 2 week checkup today since DH goes back to work tomorrow. She's up 7 oz over birth weight. I am 2/3 bf'ing and 1/3 ff'ing. Right now, she's going through a growth spurt, so she's mostly attached to the boob or sleeping all day. She sleeps really well and is generally a happy non-fussy baby. She's sleeping an average of 5 hours at night.

Tomorrow, we are on our own for the first time since DH's paternity leave is over and he's going back to work. I'm a little nervous, but we'll be ok.

I had some baby blues the first few days, especially around breastfeeding. I had to accept that I don't have enough supply to completely meet her needs (due to a past breast surgery), and that we would need to supplement. It was something I knew was most likely to happen, but is still difficult to take. I also had some cracked and bleeding nipples in the first week, but that has all passed now. I'm glad that even though we breastfeed and bottle feed, she doesn't have issues with going back and forth. I always offer breast first then bottle if she's still hungry, except when I feel I need a break and we may offer a bottle first. She's nursing about 5-6 hours a day.

I'm not anywhere near my pre-pregnancy weight, so a little jealous of those already getting back into their clothes. I'm 40 lbs over that right now. I am able to get back into some of the maternity pants I had to stop wearing a couple months ago, but my thighs and butt are still too big to get near pre-preg pants. Boobs are too big for pre-preg shirts, too, so I'm still in all maternity clothes.
