Wake ups 6 months

Anyone else's babies start waking up more around 6 months? At around 4.5 months we did CIO because of waking up every 45 minutes. It was tough but worked great after just a couple nights. Sometimes he'd sleep 8+ hours sometimes would wake up once to feed.

For the past 2 weeks almost he's been waking up about three times during the night, sometimes every two hours. He's not really eating much when I nurse him. Just starts to fall asleep a minute or so after.

Should I implement cio again? Do you have to keep going back to it all the time? I really don't want to keep having to do it often :(

**he has a tooth that's already come in but he's not acting bothered at all since it came in. And I know the 6 month growth spurt could be the case but he's not eating when I nurse him.

Yes!! He goes in a few weeks or month spurts of sleep patterns. Mine is 6 1/2 months, goes to sleep at 7 after nursing in a halo sleep sack swaddle, and lately wakes up 3 times throughout the night sometimes more before waking for good at 6 or 7. He's waking himself by rolling over in the swaddle but he won't sleep without it! I'm with you, going crazy!!

Right there with you. My DD STTN from 2.5 months, at 5 months she started waking up 1-2 times a night.  She use to go right down again after a bottle and a couple minutes of patting.  Now it's a bottle and almost an hour because she's wide awake.  She has 3 teeth and is eating like crazy, hello growth spurt I think.

I'm in the same boat! My DS is 6.5 months and has been consistently waking up twice every night. He goes to bed between 7-8pm and used to STTN. Now he's usually up at 11:30 and 2:30...and also not hungry. He usually gets back to sleep pretty quickly, but I definitely am missing my uninterrupted sleep!

Not sure where this is coming from, as he's always been a great night sleeper, but I am glad I'm not alone!

This is us.  She used to sleep so soundly, but now she wakes up 2-4 times a night.  We pop the pacifier in her mouth and she usually goes right back out, but this past week she's been hungry at 4 or 5AM, when she previously was able to go until 6 or 7AM!  Not sure what to do about the non-hunger wakings, but we just ordered the Ferber book and might try to give it a go..

There's a big growth spurt around 6 months that could be causing this. There are so many things that mess up sleep in the first 6 months so that's why I think sleep training too young is kind of pointless. They can't stick to it anyways!
I agree with all of this as it has been my experience! We were desperate as DD didn't sleep more than 45 minutes all night long so we did ferber at 5 months (Ped said to do it at 4 given our situation but I waited til 5 months and felt she was more ready) and sleep was good for 2-3 weeks but as soon as she got sick and we had to hold and comfort her, the sleep training went out the door. Same thing with teething...

Right now DD is 6.5 months and wakes up 2-4 times and I feed her twice usually. Sometimes it does take her an hour or more to go back to sleep. She cut down on MOTN feeds on her own when she was 5 months, but then she started it back up again. I figure when she's ready she'll STTN again. She has done it 13 times (they are so precious and hard to come by so I do a happy dance when they do happen and count them) so hopefully she'll be able to do it again soon.

I'm just prepared for the first year to be full of sleep changes. I've learned that as soon as I think we have a pattern she'll change it up on me and I think this will be the case for the first year or so..

Hang in there. You're not alone.

My daughter, whom is 7 m/o now, still doesn't sleep through the night and NEVER has! She goes down about 8pm. Wakes up around 12. Then again at 3 and at 5am she is up for the day! Oh, and she hardly sleeps during the day. Naps are a luxury.... I just pray this habit stops soon. I've tried patting her and then walking away. She fusses a bit and when I can tell she's getting mad I go back over there and pat her some more before walking out of veiw. Usually it works and she slowly drifts back to sleep but on occation she just wants more bottle. If it doesn't work after about 10 minutes she probably is still hungry for the rest of her bottle!

It's hard to imagine that people have more than 2 kids for this very reason.  I'm so glad I'm on #2 & done!

Yes- DS was up at 3am the last two nights... He's a big boy, and a very healthy eater, so I can understand going through the growth spurt and being hungry. But let's just say I have finally become very comfortable with DS STTN (since around 3 months)...

I'm going through the exact same thing.  From almost 3 months until a couple of weeks ago, DS slept from 9 pm - 7 am.  He just turned 6 months on Monday and for the past 3 weeks he's been waking up every 3 hours.  I was attempting to feed him the first 2 weeks, but he wouldn't eat anything until 6 am.

This week instead of feeding him, I have just been rubbing his back when he wakes up at midnight and 3 am (His crib is still in our bedroom, so I attempted to let him cry for a while before consoling, but he would just WAIL) and he falls back to sleep after a minute.  Then at 6 am, he eats well.  I'm still having to get up to console him, but not having to pull him or myself out of complete sleep mode.
