MW and I just joined spotify and I've been making playlists like I'm DJ Skribble. I have a wide variety of taste in music with my share of guilty pleasures. As I was thinking of songs to add, I wondered what you guys would suggest.

So feel free to suggest some good tunes.
Were you the one that added How Bizzare to your playlists?
I am still patiently waiting for your Sugar Ray playlist. I will be it's #1 follower.
That's me, Mack.
I'll have it up by the end of the weekend.
We can brainstorm together on what should be on there.
Right? Sammy Hagar seems like a really nice dude, whether he's talking rock or hawking his tequila, but the music Van Hagar made is, to my ears anyway, downright awful. The worst kind of 80s "epic" stadium rock, when otherwise solid bands started sticking glossy synths on everything.
And wtf was the Gary Cherone thing all about? Nothing like taking what used to be the greatest bar band in the world and sticking the guy from Extreme out front.
Also: Nas is great. Who else do you listen to in terms of hip hop? I'm all over the map with old school/new school. Still rock the Def Squad record "El Niño" sometimes, even. Think I'll put that on right now, actually...
Verve are great. You into Doves? Easily one of my favorite bands. "Sulphur Man," "Down by the River," "Satellites," "Words"... All great songs, and the list goes on. Also, you like Arctic Monkeys at all? "Fluorescent Adolescent" is a somewhat oldie but a goodie. Haven't heard the new record but they're usually pretty good. I'm into a lot of the older English stuff: Charlatans, Stone Roses (love them, and the remix record is great), Smiths, Cure, New Order, etc.
And if you like Joy Division, you might dig Savages, an all-girl thing from London that's solid. They might be a little up their own asses, but they're sincere so it's somewhat forgivable. Google the video for "Shut Up" and you'll see what I mean. There's a minute or two of speechifying, but then a great bass riff kicks in and they fire it up. Lead singer definitely has the Ian Curtis stage presence down, including the arm flailing. Whether it's good or bad, derivative or inspired, time will tell. If I was 15 right now, I'd probably be in love with the whole band.

Yeah, I'd love to hang out with Hagar, but don't care for his music.
-My son was born in April 2012. He pretty much rules.
HipHop/Rap is my favorite genre. I don't know why, but it just intrigues me more than other genres.
My favorite group is the Beastie Boys
My favorite album is Check your Head.
Listening to MCA's growth as a lyricist and as a human being is amazing.
If you haven't already please listen to Something's Gotta Give and I don't know. Both great MCA tracks.
I listen to pretty much everyone
Wu tang Nas Biggie tupac Bone thugs The lost boyz Dr dre Snoop NWA Public enemy Ma$e A tribe called quest Jurassic 5 Older Jay Z (reasonable doubt/ hard knock life) The first two DMX albums Gran master flash Whodini Kurtis Blow Outkast Method man Big Pun Lil Wayne
There are tons of songs that I like on mixed CDs that I've made. Too many to list though.
Now that I have spotify I'm looking forward to listening to The roots, Kendrick Lamar, and 2chainz.
I'm going to check out the doves since you so highly recommend them.
Cradle of Filth, Mannequin. Dimmu Borgir, Purtanical Children of Bodom, Bodom after midnight. Tristania, World of glass. Clutch, Ghost. Mudvayne, Death Blooms. Dub step guilty pleasure ? Liquid stranger, Jolt, pressurize. Anything Flux pavilion, Knifeparty, Calvin Harris. My play list isn't for the faint of heart, or scared easy children.
Well Sandy Cohen, you are in the Dirty South, right? Not a shocker you like some of the music that popped up in your neck of the woods. Although the Beasties are not from the South.
I love the Beasties.

Thrilled to see Cradle of Filth, Flux Pavilion, Clutch and dubstep mentioned in the same list. You lost me at Calvin Harris, but I'm a +1 on almost everything else (can't do Mudvayne though; can't get past the little bassist guy's ladybug getup). I'm off to Google Dimmu Borgir.
