Baby bump at 9weeks!!

Re: Baby bump at 9weeks!!

  • I'm 5 weeks too and I can't wait to start showing! I seriously can't stop thinking about being pregnant and the baby, makes the 8 months til due date seem so far haha! Congrats :)
  • Loading the player...
  • I am 10 weeks and "showing" early too. My DOCTOR even said i am showing early bc of having a small frame before i got preg. Even if it is bloat i still love it bc it will turn into the actual baby bump. So congrats!!
I have to agree with this. At 13 weeks I am showing.  My doctor says because I am under 5 feet tall my uterus is about where it would be at about 5 months on an average size woman.

Is there truth to this? I am 4'11" and really curious about that (the under 5" tall thing, of course ^_^)

  • I should clarify! I am not speaking of the ones who just simply said "that is a bloat belly" it is everyone else that either had to make it sound AWFUL or decided they had to make a huge deal out of nothing because they like to be in control and the center of attention! Get a life "ladies"!!
  • After the bloating subsides, your stomach can look a lot smaller.  Some women panic and think something is wrong because their stomachs shrank week over week.  So the reminder about it being bloat can be helpful there.

And if you want to rub it and talk to it and play Mozart to it through headphones on your stomach, whatevs.  It's just kind of funny to those who know.
    Our family is complete!

LOL. I feel ya, I don't always trust "the guy with the MD degree" tho. My mother almost died from Lyme's disease because 8 docs with degrees didn't know what it was until SHE suggested it, and I have Fibromyalgia myself which people with degrees have been misdiagnosing me for over a decade before someone figured this out. So, in all fairness, from my point of view, just because someone with a degree says it, doesn't mean I'll believe it right off the bat.

  • Good for you, welcome to the world of not everyone shares your opinions. Bloat is caused by pregnancy which some women embrace. Some of you people are so judgey, climb back on up to that high horse and high tail it out of here sister. So many of you calling each other sweetie you just sound stupid... Also when women leave the delivery room they still look 5-6 months pregnant. Grow up congrats to the girl and her bump/bloat... Geeez the hormones!

So as soon as the baby comes out your stomach is flat right since it's ALL baby? Um no, sweetie, nice try though.

Maybe you just gained too much weight....A lot of people are pretty skinny after they have their baby.  Your muscles and organs return to their normal location and, unless you gained too much weight, you look pretty normal before too long.  :)
    AHHHHHH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

OMG this is adorable and precious. You sweet little thing.
I did.  I lost all the weight within a month and had a flat stomach pretty quickly.  Sorry.  It does happen.  I wasn't in shape for about 5-6 months, but I was thin again pretty quickly.

  • @kayla_louise and @wtfisup, false flagging will get you banned.
  • Your organs (i.e. uterus) are proportional to your body height/build so typically even those under 5 ft will still show around the same time as someone who is 5'5" or 6ft.
  • You're bloated. I'm 5 feet tall and pregnant with #2. With my first the baby didn't come above my pubic bone until 12 weeks.

DS #1 born January 2010. DS #2 due June 2014.

  • I am super skinny (5'4" 104lbs.) and 7 weeks pregnant (my counter may be off due to the doctor estimating a different date from when I made it) and am forming my goodness a "bloat", BUT this "bloat" would never have been here BCP (<--this mean before conception, right? still learning lingo). So..my so called "bloat" is my baby bump and I think yours, OP, is adorable. & I am very happy for you. Even in my picture I am only 5 weeks and BCP my belly didn't puff out that far (AND I could poop just fine!)

Oops accidentally hit post! Lol but here is the pic!
Very cute baby bump!!  Congrats to you :)
  • I had an early bump and thought it was bloat but then SURPRISE...twins.  My pre-preggers pants didn't last long.
  • I say that each of us is different and there is no reason to fight over bump or bloat, educated vs noneducated, or who can highlight/bold the best quotes.

Lets just say "Hey lookin good! Let me know what your favorite brand of maternity pants are!"

Not to get all "kumbaya", but seriously, snaek does not have to be disrespectful

  • Wow how I've missed 1st tri. The inevitable "I have a bump at 9 weeks!" post.

It's bloat. Your uterus is still beneath your pelvic bone this early. Your distended uterus which is filled with baby and fluid is what makes a pregnancy bump. Most women still have a bump right after birth because their ute is still distended. It takes a while to go back to its normal size.

I also agree. I'm 5'2 and about 110 lbs, and I've had a distinct (yet not noticeable when I'm in clothes and I don't go around showing it off) forward expansion in my pelvic area these last few days (beyond the bloat I've had). I'm sure some of it is bloat, but I'm also told that some of it is uterus (I'm just over 10 weeks) So what? Like OP said, every BODY is different and so is every pregnancy, or so I've been told. You ladies are a community of people with personal experience (which is valuable in some cases) acting as though you're experts and trying to rain on someone else's parade for who-knows-what-reason.

Also, I would just like to say that I've read through a good number of posts and responses on this forum, especially in 1st tri, and I think that many of you should be ashamed of yourselves. So a girl is excited about what's likely her first pregnancy. She doesn't know everything, neither do you, maybe she just wants to gush. So let her, no reason to be so rude! This is a pregnancy forum! Of all places, I would think that this type of site would offer positivity and constructive advice, not bashing and flaming. You can be "honest" with someone without being a clique of nasty brats. Does being a mother really turn you into a rude, snarky woman? Cause many of you raise some serious concerns.

OP, I know you're probably very much showing right now since it's been a few months, and who cares what these nasty bitches say. You're beautiful and your baby will be too, take care and good luck!

@mj.reilly first of all, of what, exactly, should I be ashamed? Because I said some of the women on here are acting like bitches? Should we assume, then, that you can dish it out but you can't take it?

Secondly, I've seen posters flagged over and over (and say things much nastier than I did) who are still around to post hateful trash for no reason, so if they ban me I have three other perfectly good pregnancy apps I can give 5 stars to. In other words, don't threaten me about the internet, over the internet. Lol.

Also, I clearly implied that honesty is fine! Necessary! Probably what most posters are seeking! BUT there's no reason to be rude about it. Seriously, no reason. Get over yourselves! The only reason you're all so nasty is because you have a computer screen in front of you and not a human being. People who flame on the internet FOR NO REASON (hint: I'm implying that acting the way some of you do toward a person who is seeking support is REASON to be flamed) are nothing more than cowards. And if you're this way IRL I'm glad I live in Ohio, where people are happy and polite unless provoked, not whatever awful place you're hailing from.

If you think it's bloat, fine. Many commenters responded with just this and it was sufficient AND honest. Why do you need to say any more than that, aside from being simply a mean person?

All I'm saying is that this doesn't exactly seem the type of place that people should feel comfortable being rude (to those who are trying to utilize the site for its true purpose) when it isn't NECESSARY. I'm so sick of hearing the "we don't blow glitter or provide unicorns" crap from you guys. There are about a billion other forums you can join to act like an asshole where it's perfectly acceptable and expected... why do it here?

Lastly, I'd just like to say that I'm a 26 year old college student who isn't married and is working on her FIRST child. Saying the word "bitch" isn't outside the realm of reality for someone in my position, not does it call into question my character. Being rude for no-good-reason would, which is what I've witnessed in full-force on this board. It's bothersome, concerning, and exhausting.

**for the record, I posted these remarks on this thread because it's one where the blatant rudeness is so completely apparent. As a new and highly tentative member (due to the attitude), this board needs to clean up its act.
  • Lol at how we need to clean up our act. What is this Breakfast poster going to do if we don't?

Well honestly, what I'll "do" is either join a better, more productive and less completely awful forum (where I can get the few questions I'll have over the next seven months answered factually without people thinking I'm not doing a good enough job of "fitting in" -LOLOL) or simply block all of you who are rude, since I'm pretty sure I can do that. I'm not surprised or bothered by the fact that you're ganging up on me so-to-speak, it's pretty obvious that this is a (really sad and pathetic to say since this is the internet) "clique" of obviously angry, bitter, bored women. You're probably the women who are raising the type of brats and snobs that I'm so desperate to keep MY child away from. Ugh.

Oh, and (lol at this since it was such a dumb remark) I know some awful people in Ohio as well seeing as how I live here but for the most part, at least people have some common courtesy and don't go around cutting people down who don't deserve it or who were trying to start a friendly conversation.

I said it before and I'll say it again, get over yourselves. This is an Internet forum, it doesn't make you cool or clever to be mean or have "friends" on here, it just makes you pathetic. Really, really sad and pathetic.

    K, bye.
  • Also, spacepotatoes, I'm sorry that it bothered you. I just felt like if I'm going to spend any time on here those things needed to be said and now I've said them and have blocked those users. So any further commenting won't be my doing. Sorry.

@Caterpillar2014 you might want to read up on the appropriate uses of the flag button. It is not a "dislike" button. It is for spam or violations of the Terms of Service. The post you flagged does not fit either of those categories. Check the sticky at the top of this board. And maybe just let this thread die already, FFS.
