Did anyone pick names yet?

I feel silly picking names this early, but DH and I are pretty much settled on our boy and girl names.  (I sure hope we don't change our minds, but we probably will lol)

If it's a girl...Ella Marie
If it's a boy...Jameson Russell

Anyone else want to share their name choices?

Re: Did anyone pick names yet?

  • For a girl we for sure want Emma.  I think I want Emma Lynn (my mom's middle name).  We disagree on boy names.  I want Noah.  He likes that name, but has a friend who named their kid that so won't use it.  We never see this friend and they wouldn't be close in age at all!

  • @sparklingdiamond ughhhh I hate that.  You get so set on a name and fall in love with it, only to find out that a friend or family member used the same name.  So frustrating haha!  I've been searching for a girls name to memorialize my grandmother, who's name was Elaine.  Both of my cousins took Lainie and Lana of course.  I don't know why it never dawned on me, but about a week ago, I was like Ella!  Ella...Elaine...pretty close  ;)

Good Luck with your names.  I love Emma by the way :)

  • I *almost* changed DD's name to Audrey right before she was born, but we stuck with Emily. So most likely, Audrey will be the girl winner. I also like Quinn, but don't think it flows very well with our 1-syllable German last name.

For boys, I LOVE Nathan, but a friend of ours just named their baby Nathan two days after DD was born, so that's out. I really like Zachary. So right now that is at the top of the list.

For middle names, we want to honor my BIL Kevin who passed away 3 months ago. I am not into creative names, so for a girl, I am using the first and last initial in his first name, K and N. Most likely will be Katelyn. For a boy, we will just use Kevin.

    So,

    Audrey Katelyn or Zachary Kevin

  • For a boy, Jeffrey Case.... Jeffrey is a first name shared by my DH and FIL, DH wants to pass it on. Case is the brand of tractor my DH used in his proposal. We would call him Case.

For a girl, Lynnleigh Raven.... Lynnleigh comes from combining my mother's middle name, Lynn, with my MILs middle name, Leigh... Raven was my grandfather's middle name. He passed away a little over a year ago. I though it would be a nice tribute to him. We would either call her Lynnleigh or shorten it to Lenny.

    :)

  • For a boy we will go with his family name Clayton and the middle name Lee which is a family name of mine and his! To be honest I really dislike Clayton ... Oh well!

For a girl her name will be Lux Leigh. I fell in love with the name Lux when I read the Virgin Suicides in highschool and Leigh is my middle name. Luckily the DH likes Lux too. His mother was like ohhhh... Well that's pretty...

I really don't care what people think. If I could I'd name our potential daughter Jefferson. But the hubs will not do that. I just love boy names for girls :)

  • Boy will likely be Oliver William or Samuel (Sam) James. Girl may be Anne (Annie) or June. Her middle name with either will be Katherine. I also really like Clara but haven't even mentioned it to my husband.

    Nora - 10.26.12

    Henry - 5.9.14

  • Peyton Cruse and Ariana Joy are my picks. Middle names are both family names.
  • My husband has been saying if we have a girl she's going to be Zelda for... I'm not sure how long actually.  It might have been on the table for Benjamin if he'd been a girl.   Not sure if he is kidding.  I think it's a good name, but Zelda Fitzgerald was a miserable crazy woman and Princess Zelda is a famous video game character.

If it's a boy, I'm tempted to use a girl name that used to be a boy name but DH seemed pretty anti-that when we were trying to decide for Benjamin.  I really like Kelly for a boy, but that's my birth mother's name so I can't use it.  Aubrey might be a good one, for C Aubrey Smith, one of the awesomest character actors of Old Hollywood.

  • We don't have any picked yet but it's going to be a fight between MH and me. He got to name our son and now he's backing out of the deal (I get more say with the second). He hates any names I propose and his only suggestions so far are Robert and Lillian. Um, no.

If its a girl we both still like the name we were going to use if DS had been a girl: Brooke Elizabeth. DH also really likes Danica and I'm a fan of Elena. For a boy it could be a battle since DH vetoes all my choices. Front runners are Nicholas, Ryan or Tate

  • I always like to keep two names on me :)

I'm set on my Boy Name!  Felix Oliver

We have been going back and forth on our girl name.  I don't love my H's pick, but it is a family name so he is being stubborn.  I named my son so technically it is his turn.  He wants the name

Lola Elisabeth.  Lola was his grandmother and Elisabeth was our first baby that we lost in the second trimester.

I really Like the name:  Anna though.  I like Anna Elisabeth, but I would compromise and do Anna Lola.

  • I can barely pick out what I'm going to eat for lunch.

Luckily for a boy we plan to use DH Jr so half the work is over. We didn't pick DD's name until the weekend before I was induced (team green). I'm keeping a list but trying not to over think anything yet because I know I'll change my mind a million times. Plus I want to get a family name list together after we tell them we are expecting again.

  • William Forrest and Elise Freya (though I'm trying to get DH to get on board with Corinne Fiona; he likes Elise > Corinne because of the Lotus Elise).

  • @sparklingdiamond: love Emma Lynn.

I love Emmalyn or Emmaline or Emmeline.

I also like Winnie for a girl.

For a boy, I like Dane or Wayland.

My DS is Wyatt so that is why I lean toward "W" names.

Our DS was almost 3 days old before we settled on a name. I feel like we have a huge headstart this final time around :)

Our girls name will be Olivia Jane. It was a runner up for when I was pg with DD. My grandmother's middle name Olive and DH grandmother's name was Jane.

For now we are thinking William "Liam" Marshall. My Dad's name is William and I have always loved Liam. I just hate how popular it is now. Marshall is after my FIL's middle name.

I would love to be Team Green this time, but DH says NO WAY!

Arlo is at the top of our list if it's a boy too.  And I love the name Josephine/Josie but I totally wasted it on my rottweiler!

  • Paisley Grace for a girl or Hesston Cole for a boy.
  • Hfooter I just lol because my husband wants to name out boy if it is Clayton! After the dodgers pitcher and I don't like it all! And he won't budge! He's been saying it even before there was a sprout in there! Ugh..
  • haha not too early, we've had names we love since we've been engaged...oops :) Anyway, Lyra (lie-ra) for a girl, not sure on middle name and Corin (core-in) Maxwell for a boy!!

  • Haven't thought about it too much...
We knew immediately what we were going to name our 1st daughter.  We found out we were having a girl and we already had decided boy and girl names at that point.
When I was expecting our 2nd we were Team Green so we needed to have a boy and girl name ready.  We still planned on using our boy name (Jackson) but had the hardest time deciding on another girl name! DH is school principal so a lot of names remind of him of kids from school.
Now for baby #3... We are going Team Green again and have decided against our boy name of Jackson so we need to come up with 2 names!
Kind of thinking about Edie for a girl.
No idea for a boy... My husband mentioned Fletcher yesterday and wanted to call him Fletch for short.  I'm not digging it but maybe it will grow on me?
  • Im thinking Alexandra (Allie) Lauren for a girl, and Alexander William(maybe) for a boy. I love tons of boys names, but girl's names are harder for me to get on board with. DH says "the baby told me her name is Laura" the week before I got my BFP, and he suggested Lauren for DD1, so Im hoping he will agree to Lauren as a mn! If DD1 had been a boy, she would have been William, but I don't think it sounds good as a fn with DD's fn now.

Boy: Eli Knight (Knight is my MIL's maiden name and my husband's middle name)

  • I love the name Josephine Jane "Joey" but DH shot me down :(
  • My fave boys name happens to be BIL's name. And my second fave boys name is Logan but my good friend named her son that a month ago. So boys we got nothing.

Girls we like Sloan. Middle name heather as its MIL's name and my moms name too. I loooooove Alexandra (Lexa) for short so hopefully I can sell DH on that one :-)

Not finding out the sex til it's born tho
  • My DH was raised in the Dominican Republic (last name Rodriguez) & I'm a white girl from Michigan. Needless to say family names are difficult because it puts the kid clearly on one side. Also we want it to fit with the last name without making it too ethnic overall. My DH always liked Jacob until his grandparents couldn't pronounce it. At least we have 8 months or so to figure it out.

    our first is Emmalee :)

If our first was a boy, she would have been named Tyler Jeffrey after hubs best friend was killed in combat in Afganhistan and my nephew who passed. I'm sure well keep the name is LO is a boy.

if its a girl, I'm thinking Olivia Marie, Olivia Anne simply because I love Olivia and Marie and Anne are family names but I'm also considering Lindsey Anne and Lindsey Marie since hubs middle name is Lindsey after his grandfather.
