Swollen Feet

My feet are so swollen and hurt. If I go into work 2 or more days a week I come out with elephant feet. Thank god I can telework. Does anyone else have this?

My doctor is making me telework 3-4 days because of it. I have to pee in a jug for 24 hours and get blood taken to see if I am preclampsa.

I do not have high blood pressure or swollen hands and face. The only thing I have is sometimes swollen feet and I gained a little more weight than I should have in a 2 week span.

Anyone else like this?

Re: Swollen Feet

  • I had crazy swollen feet last time. TOMs didn't fit, even my flip flops didn't fit. I had to go buy a size up in flip flops for my last month of pregnancy. I didn't have Pre-e. Hope you get the same result from your test.

  • Yup.  Mine have been bad since about week 28.  If I don't put them up multiple times a day they are sausages by mid-afternoon.  I have one pair of flip flops I can still wear without them cutting into my feet.  Fun times.

  • My feet and hands get swollen really easily if I'm not drinking enough water. But my MW hasn't been too concerned about it as long as I rest and put my feet up at the end of the day.

  • I am a server and by the end of a shift my cankles are huge! Dr said as long as it goes down with rest and my blood pressure stays good I am in the clear. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Same here with dd but i was working in a pharmacy on my feet all day. This time im a sahm so its not so bad but if we are out and about all day i get it. I think its pretty normal, your doc is probably just playing it safe.

  • My feet and even calves are starting to get really bad, but I just saw the dr on Wednesday and my BP and urine sample were fine. I also work at a desk, and even though I try to elevate my feet, it's not helping much.

  • I am in the same boat. I actually went to the hospital last Friday because they were super swollen and numb to my cankles. They took my blood pressure every 10 min and my blood pressure was fine and they also drew blood to make sure everything was ok. Everything was great and baby is great. My doc just said to stay off my feet for the weekend but here I am at work and they are soooo swollen! I have them up and my shoes are off but its still not helping. They are horrendous. I had to go a size an a half up bc none of my shoes fit anymore! Its scary and crazy!!

  • Mine have been bad for weeks. I always show the Dr at my appts, but blood pressure has been good. I keep them up at my desk, but obviously I can't keep them above heart level at work, so I'm not sure if it does any good. I miss my shoes :(

  • My feet are constantly swollen. I'm a teacher, so I'm constantly on my feet. You are very lucky to be able to work from home. Take advantage and rest your poor feet! As long as you don't have extreme swelling elsewhere or too much protein in your urine, I wouldn't worry about preeclampsia.

  • Mine were so bad this week until late yesterday they started to go down. I am now paying more attention to keeping them up while I am at work.

  • I haven't seen my ankles in about three months. The tops of my feet get all swollen too. I can only wear my birkenstocks but even those make my heels hurt by the end of the day.

  • I am seriously feeling bad for hating on Kim K while she was pregnant now that I've hit the swollen feet stage. I stand for 7-8 hours and by the time I'm done at work, I feel my feet tingling and they are visibly swollen. I try to sit when I can but it doesn't help. Like pp's my urine and bp are fine so my dr isn't concerned, but DAMN do I wish she'd write me out of work. These suckers HURT.

  • I have swollen feet and ankles bad especially after being on my feet all day. They hurt so bad, but my doctor says my blood pressure is good and that I should expect some swelling. I'm thinking that my ankles hurt because of the extra weight they're supporting.
  • My feet swelled really bad with my first. They almost put me on bed rest but with this one it's the opposite, it's like the baby sucked everything out of me and put it in my stomach. Even my rings are big on me.
