I find everything (clothes, purses, shoes, cars, etc.) that has the name of the brand in big display, very tacky. What are you trying to prove?
Yes, I'm looking at you coworker with a rhinestoned "Guess" shirt.
My long-time ex-boyfriend's mom LOVED stuff like that. She did not get me because she bought me a few monogram handbags. They spend a lot of time in my closet. I high-5 you @EmeJay
I also agree that the 50 Shades movie is ridiculous. The books were awful. Sorry Christian lovers- just not a fan.
Maybe it's not as popular elsewhere... but everyone at work loves Dancing with the Stars. I have tried several times because I like other dance shows but I can't get into it.
It bothers me when I see little girls in Sephora with their mothers buying a lot of makeup. And I don't mean the neutral looking stuff. Seeing tweenagers and sometimes younger, picking up heavy concealer, bold color eyeshadow and lip glosses and lipsticks makes me give that Mom the side eye.
I actually think that it's fine for little girls to play with makeup for the most part, especially eye makeup. There are possibly some looks that shouldn't leave the house but those could be moderated.
What gets to me are the little girls with "Hot stuff" etc. stitched into their clothes. Umm... no!
Fair enough. I have no issues with little girls playing with makeup either. I'm pretty sure I played around in my mother's makeup and tried to wear her shoes and jewelry around the house. Unfortunately, the little girls I see in Sephora shopping for makeup are the same girls shopping in Victoria's Secret picking up the undergarments and sweats with messages written on the back.
I don't want to take a future child to Disney World.
Maybe when they're like.... 16.
What would be the point of that?
ETA: I get the whole, "I don't want to pay for a Disney Vacation until my kid is old enough to remember and enjoy it," but that is like age 8. At 16 a kid will "enjoy" Disney but not nearly as much as they would in elementary school.
It just doesn't seem appealing to me, I don't know.
I actually enjoyed Disney a LOT more as a teenager, and in my 20's.
I'm totally not opposed to traveling with my kids. I'm a HUGE lover of travel, and have been to many places (includes many countries). I would maybe rather take my child to Europe, rather than Disney. It's not the cost, the lack of them remembering.. or anything related.
It's the thought of huge lines with a million of kids. It just seems daunting.
I took my boys when they were 9 and 4 and it was miserable!!!! My oldest had fun and my youngest hated it. Lines are to freaking long ..... I just don't get it!!!
I went when I was 7 and LOVED it. I'd suck it up if I have another child and it wants to go but I'd definitely go during an off season maybe during mardi gras.

Going in the off-season is the key to Disney.
As is learning how to use Fast Pass so you don't have to stand in line. ;-)

I forgot I had this UO until @AllyTales posted hers.
I don't like Disney World.
I went when I was 5 and I hated it. It was hot, everything was expensive so my mom wouldn't let me have anything, the lines were long, and I didn't enjoy it. My aunt told me that the characters and princesses were regular people who probably just wanted to go home and take off all that crap after hugging kids in the 110 degree heat all day. So, I kept begging my mom to buy them icees so they could cool off and when they did try to hug me I told them, "That's okay, I know you're hot and just want to go home."
DH had a conference there last year so I went with him. OMG, that place is expensive. I did enjoy the spa, I would rather take the money and go to Europe than wander around Orlando.
My MIL loves WDW and she is thrilled that I'm okay with her taking any future children there without me.
This makes me sad.. I'm almost 25, and I've never been to Disney.
My husband is 25. He grew up in Orlando. His mother worked there for a time. He has never been to Disney.
It doesn't bother him though. He calls me spoiled because I grew up four hours away from Orlando and had been to Disney at least eight times before I went to college.
On a related note, not sure if this is an UO or not, but I actually like Islands of Adventure better than any of the Disney parks, with the possible exception of Animal Kingdom.
I forgot I had this UO until @AllyTales posted hers.

Agreed, although I do enjoy it.. but not until I was older. It's expensive, you're right. And it's a big tourist trap to me. As an overseas lover of travel. I'd rather go somewhere else and take my kids with us. Taking a 5 year old to Disney just seems like all kinds of horrible.
I'm surprisingly anti-femininism, and I don't have a problem with what angry women like to call "slut shaming." I don't believe anyone should use hateful words to control another person, but I do think skanky people (men and women) have something to be ashamed of. We get it. You're hot. People want you. Now quit trying so hard. What's wrong with modesty and monogamy?
EDITED FOR CLARIFICATION: I'm not against traditional feminism. I dislike the new brand of radical, aggressive, angry feminism that says women are entitled to be hateful to people who don't see them exactly as (or better than) they see themselves. The women who tweet hateful comments to male politicians who don't support their agenda, rather than having rational conversations. The ones who say entire political parties are evil and stupid because they don't agree with every perceived "right." I'm against anger and hate and rudeness hidden behind the feminism label. Any label, for that matter. Goes for all radical, angry, aggressive "-ism."
Also, modesty isn't just about dress. And note that I said I don't appreciate skanky (in-your-face oversexualized and/or promiscuous) women or men.

They're cute, but $100??? Heck no. Besides, I love the idea of Spanx and other tummy-control pants, but truly fat girls (I'm referring to myself) can't wear them. They might take away 10 lbs on bottom, but they add 20 up top in the form of a giant spare tire (it's too big to be called a muffin top)!

All of Mumford & Sons songs sound the same.
I like Mumford & Sons and went to their concert Monday night. It was a good show, but about halfway through I realized that I was listening to the same song over and over again.
Edited: improper usage of there, their, and they're drives me nuts...

Me too! I wasn't allowed to wear make up until I was 13 and even then, my mother onlylet me wear neutral stuff. Little girls need to be little girls for as long as possible. No need to grow up too fast.
Eta: After reading more comments, I should add that I have no problem with girls playing with make up. I just don't think they should leave the house with makeup on until they're older.

Say it with me: Wake up early. Arrive at opening. Take a mid day nap. Return in the evening.
And do it in September.
I was there over July 4th. We did not wait longer than 20 minutes for any ride even though we were there during one of the busiest weeks of the year.
I get what you're saying. I'm a morning person, I would have no issue getting up early and going early if needed. I still have zero desire when I have small kids.
IF (big if) my future kid/s ever beg as small kids and really really really REALLY want to go, it's possible I would reconsider. Maybe. But I could encourage a different trip.

I would totally side eye in VS.
THIS. When I was a little girl even passing by VS made me uncomfortable. I was in there the other day to get a new bra and saw tons of girls in the 13 and under range there with moms buying from the Pink line. I know that is a younger line but preteens?!
My son is 14. The girls in his class, I'm friends with all their moms, and they all shop at vs. I shop there myself because I love their underwear and cotton sleep shirts. I do have other lingerie that i don't wear in front if my son. If I had a daughter I'd let her shop there but I'd be selective on what she was able to buy. They sell so much more that just lingerie.
ETA: I don't think the pink line is so risqué .... Some of it is just sleep pants and shorts with tanks.

I don't even know where to begin with this one...
If you are a woman and you are an 'anti-feminist', then you obviously have no fucking idea what feminism is. THAT is shameful.

@str31 .... Yeah sexy on the ass is something I'd be selective about!
My boys wear boxers and they like different ones, not just a pack of plaid Hanes. My oldest lives on his own and supports himself but I still pick up clothes for him when I see something on sale. I saw some boxers once that had lips all over them that said kiss me. I just couldn't do it.
Also, Victoria's Secret is a lingerie store. Young women wear bras and underwear. What's wrong with girls needing to go get bras and underwear? They have plenty of other sleepwear in there too. It's not all thongs and garter belts.
You can find similar patterned lingerie at all other stores in the mall. My DD is 12 and has tons of underwear and training bras that are patterned and neon and striped and polka dotted, and I can assure you, she doesn't look skanky in them. Her underwear came in a package from Walmart.
What is being coorelated here? Girls who shop at VS are all slutty slut slut whores? Gimme a break. If you want to see hideous skanky undergarments, go to the Joe Boxer section at Kmart. Now that shit is trashy.

I don't think polygamy is a bad thing. If that is what you choose to do with your life as a smart, free thinking adult, go for it.
I think the main problem with polygamy today and in the past is that many of the women involved didn't really have a choice. I'm pretty much to the point that I don't really give a shit what people do with their private lives, but certain situations have a history of abuse.
I agree in the cases like Warren Jeffs that is just disgusting and wrong. However, the overall practice of just having multiple wives doesn't really bother me. If the wives happen to be 14 then yes, that is beyond wrong. If the wives are at least 18 when making a decision on their own, do what makes you happy.
I'm surprisingly anti-femininism, and I don't have a problem with what angry women like to call "slut shaming." I think maybe you're confused about what feminism is. Feminism is about choices. The choice to dress conservatively or the choice to dress provocatively (among a 1000 other choices). I think that women who talk about slut shaming are rightfully angry. We live in a society that promotes sex, but as soon as a woman starts enjoying her sexuality and dressing provocatively we call her a slut. And THAT is anti-feminism.
Look, I see people dressed in over the top, revealing outfits, and I think that they have questionable fashion choices. And usually I wonder how on earth they're comfortable in that get up. However, I don't think that makes them "skanky." I think disrespecting yourself makes you skanky, but if you enjoy putting on a hot outfit, strutting your stuff, and gettin' yo' freak on, and the next morning you can look yourself in the mirror, appreciate all of your choices and be a productive citizen then more power to you honey!
Also, Victoria's Secret is a lingerie store. Young women wear bras and underwear. What's wrong with girls needing to go get bras and underwear? They have plenty of other sleepwear in there too. It's not all thongs and garter belts.

I think there was a tangent that some people missed. Probably partially my fault.
Young girls and Sephora -> Young girls with "SEXY" on their butt -> The same girls were at Sephora and VS buying pants with "SEXY" on the butt.
I have 0 problems with girls having pretty underwear from VS or elsewhere. I don't think many people do... but this point got confused some how.
Thanks @tealowl, @Mermaids&Magic & @mmb248 - I am a little ragey today and have been trying to come up with a civil response...
@jenb_99 - do you not appreciate the right to vote? The right to be seen as a real person in the eyes of the law and not "less than"? I don't understand how you can be a woman in 2013 and be anti-feminism, I just can't...
And slut-shaming is about blaming the victim for a perpetrator's crimes - that's just anti-decent human being as far I'm concerned. Who are you to judge how other people dress? If you want to dress modestly, go for it, if I don't, who are you to say anything? And what this has to do with monogamy is beyond me...
I like Mumford & Sons and went to their concert Monday night. It was a good show, but about halfway through I realized that I was listening to the same song over and over again.

This! I'm a big believer in "as long as it's consensual, then to each his own". I don't think the government should have any say in who enters a marriage (other than age). I could see how the legal benefits between multiple people could get complicated, but if it was basically limited to a 'legal' marriage between the first two people, then I don't see why it should be anyone's business if they decided to 'marry' other people too.
@jaytee I appreciate the right to vote, etc, but I don't support aggressive radical feminism. Actually, I don't support aggressive radical anything. Some people are so pro-something that they come across as anti-everything-else, and I disagree with that. I work with a lot of romance authors, so I see a lot of angry anti-male hate tweets and FB posts labeled as "feminism," and the negativity really turns me off. Badmouthing one group in an effort to lift up another is gross.
Modesty isn't just about the way a person dresses. One thing that earns a woman the "slut" label is in-your-face sexuality and promiscuity. Promiscuity =/= monogamy. Women who set out to titillate and turn men on = meh. I'm not into that. But to each her own. That's the nice thing about opinions. Everybody's entitled to one.

You must watch a lot of Fox 'news'.
Just because a woman embraces her sexuality and doesn't hide her features does not mean she's promiscuous. Or slutty.
Would you like us all to start wearing Burkas? I mean, that seems to be the most conservative way to hide our individualism and dirty, 'slutty sexuality'.
P.S. To the second bolded statement - you sound like a hypocrite.

Feminism does not mean "radical aggressive" anything, that makes me wonder if you really know anything about feminism. Feminism is about equality, not bad mouthing anybody, that's just ridiculous.
Just because a woman wears a short skirt and low cut top doesn't mean she's told you about her sexual history, you are assuming she is promiscuous based on how she looks, which is one thing feminism speaks out against, the stereotypes surrounding women and particularly, their sexuality. Oh, and without feminism, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be entitled to an opinion.
I see nothing wrong with eating them. I just had the best egg white, Canadian bacon, 2% cheese on a English muffin and enjoyed every minute of it!!!!

I am confused. The bolded is a very low carb meal. Had you said, "I LOVE CARBS! I just ate a bowl of pasta, 6 garlic knots and a side of french fries" that would have made more sense.
Well that's my supper! Lol
Seriously I was thinking about my English muffin. Maybe my breakfast wasn't a good example. I just know people that are on these crazy diets that would dare eat a freaking English muffin much less a bowl of pasta. I eat bread everyday of some sort and am proud of it. I will even eat white bread sometimes!!
You know what the real problem with slut-shaming is? Things like Steubenville happens.
When 16 years old boys, who know nothing and are in the stage of learning everything that has to be about women, think it's ok to take advantage of a girl because "she was clearly asking for it", you know that as a society we have royally fucked up somewhere.
So it's not okay for Miley Cyrus to dress in underwear and do all sort of stupid stuff, but no word on a grown-ass married man who does nothing and promote through his song this kind of behaviour?
I do not like Converse sneakers. First because I find them incredibly uncomfortable, they manage to be too tight i the toes while being too loose in the heel. Second, because I just don't think they are attractive, and they are even less attractive with a formal dress. Especially with short formal dresses, they cut the lags off at a weird spot. Also, on the feminisn issue, there's a huge difference between hating men and hating the patriarchy. The patriarchy as a societal norm hurts both men and women. I think it's easy to say that you don't like or need feminism when you have enough privilege to insulate you. I have privilege (I am white, able bodied, straight, cis, and moderately well off, and all of those are privileges in our socity that, with the exception of the last, I recieve based on nothing more than my birth) and it is really easy to become complacent.

April 2013: Femara + Trigger + IUI = ???
It doesn't bother him though. He calls me spoiled because I grew up four hours away from Orlando and had been to Disney at least eight times before I went to college.

Eta: After reading more comments, I should add that I have no problem with girls playing with make up. I just don't think they should leave the house with makeup on until they're older.

If you are a woman and you are an 'anti-feminist', then you obviously have no fucking idea what feminism is. THAT is shameful.

TTC since March 2013. BFP 4/13/13, blighted ovum discovered 6/6/13, m/c 6/8/13.
BFP 11/10/13, EDD 7/25/13 - stick little owlet!

Me too..
I think I am guilty of all these UOs..except the kid stuff.
Also, Disney World is the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!
For realz
I see nothing wrong with eating them. I just had the best egg white, Canadian bacon, 2% cheese on a English muffin and enjoyed every minute of it!!!!
I think those diets where you give up carbs or any particular food group is just wrong!
I think the problem is people don't exercise .... It's not the carbs!

Did you ever see Angels in the Outfield? Maybe you can't get the picture of him being a little boy out of your mind? It's still weird for me. I think he's cute though. lol

Okay.
