We aren't yet & I'm torn on whether to post a FB announcement after 1st tri. I just had a friend lose her baby at 6 months pregnant & she had to deliver the baby still born and then she had to "unannounce" on FB. It was heartbreaking. I know the chance of something like that happening is low, but it freaks me out.

part of me wants to wait till 20 weeks to pass my loss date part of me is just too excited to keep it in! it will be at LEAST 12 weeks. but idk if i will make it to 20.

I haven't even been to the doctor yet! It will be the end of September before we even think about Facebook. We have started telling our family, though.
Mama to a little girl born July 2011 and a little boy born April 2014!
No one knows (except ladies here!). We'll tell our families and close friends after we pass the first trimester. We announced on FB at 13-14 weeks last time, but this time, I'm hesitant to make any big announcements before 23 weeks....
~ Leah, Rachel and Gabriel were born on May 27, 2013 (23 weeks) ~
Definitely not making any public declarations of pregnancy until we're comfortable telling aunts/uncles, friends, employer, etc. None of those people should find out via fb. We'll probably wait until 16-20 weeks.
nope. we probably won't until 12-13 weeks. we're not superstitious or anything, and we didn't wait nearly this long to reveal our news with my son, but given that i have some higher risk complications this time, we're just riding it out and making sure all still looks good.
that said, about 90% of our close or even reasonably close friends know at this point, so it's very much not a secret. we tell people whenever we see them in person, so making it FB official means our former classmates and coworkers and distant relatives will find out.
Definitely not fb official yet. My DH, mom, and one co-worker knows. Going to the doctor next week and once I talk to my boss, then I'll think about putting it on fb. I did not announce DD last year on fb until she was born and a lot of people (h.s. and college friends) were sad to be out of the loop.
We're telling our families and a couple of my close friends at nearly 9 weeks, then my employer right after that. I don't think I'll be able to wait much longer after that for our official FB announcement. I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks last year, but this one is going much better. I've had a successful US and heard the heartbeat which significantly reduces the miscarriage risk. I just can't hold in my excitement any longer!
We have our first ultrasound on Thursday and will likely announce that day or that weekend. We've already told close friends, family, and employers. I want to tell the whole damn world
Emerson Kate born 4/6/12, 5 lbs. 13 oz. 18 3/4 inches.
I'm posting on FB next week after my dating ultrasound. The only reason I'm waiting that long (7 weeks) is because my due date has changed from what I suspected with previous pregnancies.
When I miscarried a few years ago I wished I had announced the pregnancy on FB. It was far too painful for me to say the words in person but I could have used the support from my friends who never even knew I was pregnant to being with. That said I'm fairly selective about FB friends. I'm a SAHM so I'm not using it for networking or anything, just keeping in touch with people I truly like.
We won't go facebook official until October once we've hit 13 weeks or so. I want to make sure I get a chance to tell all of my close friends and family first so that they don't have to find out online. I'm feeling pretty confident about everything going well, but you just never know.

I don't know how you all can keep it a secret for so long! we've seen the heartbeat so it's on FB now honestly I've been so sick that it's becoming hard to keep it quiet anyway! (you can only say your "fighting a bug" for so long)
I haven't told a single soul besides my husband. I definitely won't be announcing on fb anytime soon. With my daughter, we waited until 20 weeks after our anatomy scan. I was 10 weeks along when I lost my second and I'm glad only close family knew. I just don't like to talk about things that are upsetting to me so the fewer the people that knew, the better. I'm anxious to not have to keep it a secret anymore though.
I almost announced on FB last year after I saw the healthy heartbeat at 8 weeks but was very glad I didn't when I m/c at 10 weeks. I am friends with over 1000 people from different chapters of my life and honestly don't get on much anymore anyway. I'll probably wait until after the a/s to make sure friends don't find out that way, so after I can call and tell everyone.

Strangely enough I don't plan on posting on fb or any other social network. I even asked my sister not to post baby shower pics if she throws one
This. Facebook wasn't around when I had my son. I have no desire to tell my Facebook group since some of them I haven't seen since high school. Will tell close family after 1st tri. Bf doesn't want to tell anyone unless he/she is born. He jokingly said I won't be allowed out when I get big. He's a little afraid cause of our loss. ;;)

Absolutely not. I've seen too many people have to unannounce. I'm not sure if I will ever post on FB. If I do it will be much much later in my pregnancy.
We will prob announce early, because so many people are following our journey, and so many people reached out after our loss. Because we are so public their support would be greatly appreciated if anything were to go wrong. We will wait until after at least our first u/s maybe until our 2nd u/s and appointment with the MFM on the 30th.

Thinking we probably won't tell on facebook until we find out the sex. However, I am planning on starting to post about it on my blog around 12 weeks, once I've told close friends and work. So far just my side of the family knows. My dad texted again today to ask if now that both my sisters knew, he could tell his friends :P. I had to re-explain the concept of keeping things under wraps until second trimester.

It is so hard not to share! First sono is tomorrow, so we may decide to tell parents and family only... Not Facebook official til we know the sex, arrrrg! Patiently waiting... :-)
I don't think we will officially announce it. DH isn't too keen on FB. He doesn't even have an account. But I have a lot of events coming up (weddings, showers, etc) which means a lot of pictures. So I think I will let those speak for themselves! I can't wait to start showing
We find out the sex in just two weeks and will probably announce then. Because I'm AMA they are doing bloodwork for various complications which also reveals the sex of the baby. Praying for a healthy little one so deeply that if the news comes back good I just can't imagine holding it in!
