Re: FFFC

  • I'm glad Dh works all weekend and on Labor Day. We always do a BBQ and I ain't in the mood for that shit this year.

  • Oh poor Judith. I'm sorry, BK.
  • Poor Judith :(

This isn't an FFFC but I don't want to start a new thread. Dd has crossed eyes and we go to a specialty eye Dr today. I'm so scared to hear what's wrong and if there's anything we can do to fix it. My poor baby girl...

  • My fffc is that we r renting a minivan to see my grandparents next month. I secretly covet minivans (Honda Odessey in particular) and am irrationally excited. I am so not a cool mom and should prob get to shopping for some mom jeans!

    I see nothing flammable.

I've never understood the minivan hate.

  • Good vibes LaurelBee!
  • @bostonkisses2 I'm sorry about Judith. DS1 is chronically constipated and I can empathize about finding the right dose. It's such a fine balance. We use miralax and some days are good days and some are not....

@laurelbee my niece had crossed eyes and it was corrected easily with glasses when she was 2! I hope it's an easy fix for your LO as well.

I agree, I think last night was really good for us. I feel like everyone was able to politely air their grievances and we all got to know each other a little better. Dr. Phil would be so proud.

  • I've been feeling really road ragey lately. I hate pokey drivers in general and they always seem worse in the city. If you drive 5-10 miles an hour below the speed limit (good conditions), wait 15 seconds after the light turns green to take your foot off the brake and then coast through the light, hesitate to turn while on a green arrow... Then I feel ragey. So ragey. I have to remind myself not to tailgate or slam on my horn. I just don't get why so many people don't just drive. I don't expect people to speed, but hitting the speed limit and paying attention at lights is just courteous.

Oh my God, me too. Press your fucking gas pedal! I even called DH on the way to work to rage about how some bitch putzed along in traffic and made me miss a light. I could tell he was thinking "why are you calling me about this, psycho?" But he played along, God love him.

LaurelBee positive thoughts & vibes. With todays technology I'm sure she will be fine. GL

  • I am trying to participate more and this probably won't help me be welcomed into the community but I don't even know one One Direction song. I exclusively listen to NPR and I have no taste in popular music anymore. I am fairly certain that DS tries to jump out of the car when he hears the Morning Edition music.

I guess my FFFC should be that talk radio is turning me into my father.
  • @andrea99 did you say she was going to her moms today? Those days are the worst! My SKs really push the boundaries on days they are leaving because they know they'll be with the other parent and won't be punished. Grrrr it drove me nuts.

What? No. I totally know you and I think that your siggy pic is absolutely precious. I admire it every single time you comment.
Aw, thanks :)  Here's another FFFC of a more serious nature - I fear rejection and always assume people don't like me or they don't care to know me or whatever.  I think I need therapy to figure out why I think I suck lol

  • My FFFC: DH has his vasectomy date. Now that it's going ahead I'm having second thoughts. My ovaries are throbbing. I know we can't support another child, at 4 we are emotionally and financially spent. But all my ovaries hear is "look at dah be-beh!! Soooo cute!!!"

This is my huge issue.  I try to play it off as "I don't like people", or "we just grew apart", but really I just don't want to be rejected, so I do the rejecting first.  I have horrible rejection issues.

Much like @peanutrach1 and @KlondikeBar I can't get down with the younger guys. I am 32 and they just seem like babies. (And I don't know how to tag so this probably won't work.)

  • I have two tiny tattoos. I really want more but my H doesn't like them so I've held off for the last 8 years we've been together. I know I shouldn't let his preference dictate what I do with my body, but I know it will be an argument that I don't feel like having.

  • I can't wait 'til the kids are old enough to play DnD with. I think 8 and 10 will be good. It's such a good game for kids if it is DMd right and H is a good DM. It had problem solving, team work, imagination etc. I realize no one may know what I'm talking about.

I'm thinking DnD is dungeons and dragons, right? Please correct me if wrong! I don't play that, but I do totally understand the feeling of being excited for your little child to be old enough to enjoy special things you want to do with them.

I have so many books that I need my daughter to be a lot older before we can begin reading them.  I can't wait!  Also, things like Kayaking, going to get pedicures, etc.  I want her to stay little, but I also want her to grow up so we can do all these fun things together.  LOL.

Maybe just go get one on a whim? It's not like it is a mutual decision when it is
your body.  Since you know in your heart you don't have to ask for permission (unless it is a money thing), just get it done whenever the mood strikes you!

I think my real FFFC should be that one of my celebrity crushes is Mike Holmes, from Holmes on Holmes on HGTV. DH thinks this is hilarious.

Haha! That guy is handy! I like the guy that does landscaping and exterior architecture. What's the name of the show?

For some odd reason my hair was grey in middle school so I started to dye it. I had a lot going on at home and was a stressed out kid. It eventually went back to light brown. I was known as the "grey haired girl." I was told this by friends later.

You know this is a huge trend now? Gray hair is becoming very "in", if you feel like trying to discontinue the dying.  Not that you have to play to trends.

I was mean in middle school. I feel badly about it.

I'm stalling on doing my 30DS this morning.

I was a total bitch in junior high.  I was a jock and a bitch.  I made a girl cry at lunch, and that's when it hit me that I had to chill the fuck out.

Okay, you both deserve a good spanking.

  • @missymo Money is a factor. Also it is a rare occasion that I'm out by myself and would have the time to just go get a tat.

    @packerfan79 I'm down, let's make it happen!

@peanutrach1, I should have said I'm sorry that you were so stressed when you were little, instead of launching into gray hair trends.  Sorry bout that.

His show is Holmes on Homes. And while I am at it, Damon Bennett, his senior contractor is pretty hot, as well!
  • Yesterday when I opened a thread about a 2 or 3 year old having cavities I totally had a moment of judgey mcjudgerton and didn't even finish reading. I think until Quid comes to tell me that is totally ok OR my kid has his first check up and also has cavities and I have to come back to post in the "stuff you use to judge but don't now" thread... I'll keep my mcjudgey face on

Ahh.  Well, with money being a factor, than yeah, I guess it is a mutual decision.
