For us, the newborn stage was way easier to deal with than our crazy/crawling/walking 11 month old. Obviously I love her new independence, her developing personality, and watching her understand more and more each day...but I miss snuggles, and quiet time, and being able to shower while she sat quietly in her seat in the bathroom. I was much less-stressed when she was a newborn.

Example 2: A local photographer (I am a fan of her business page and a friend of her on her personal page) posts negative comments on her personal page all the time, complains about her work load, and even tags her photographer friend in funny little sayings like "my camera isn't magic it cant make you beautiful".

It just annoys the CRAP out of me. I guess being a business owner, I just think it's tacky.

Eek!  That's terrible. I don't think it would be an UO either.  She may think just because it's on her personal page it's okay, but I think it would deter people who are friends from using her or referring her to others.

A random and not UO but I will be surprised if my marriage survives this move... or if one of us doesn't have a complete meltdown.
Sadly this is why we are not having another baby. I literally do not think our marriage would survive. People think I'm being haha funny about it, but I'm serious that I think another baby would put us in divorce court.
Us, too. We can't do the newborn stage again.
Us, too! We debated for a really long time on having a second child. We decided to go for it and I had my IUD removed. After a month or two we decided it wasn't such a good idea and neither of us thought we could handle it. I made an appointment to have it put back in and found out I was already pregnant. True story, our marriage almost didn't survive. I'm so grateful now, but it was a long 6-9 months for sure!!

This is us too exactly.  He's a high needs/ high energy baby.  He still doesn't sleep well, and I think that's what the hardest thing was during the newborn stage, and now I'm used to that.  I was much, much less stressed 11 months ago than I am now.  Maybe our next babies will be more laid back.

lol, don't hate, bro!!  I have SUUUUPER low BP and am discouraged by a cardiologist from going low-sodium.  Also, its super yum.

I have insanely low blood pressure as well, the nurses always check twice because they're convinced it can't be right. Mmm salt.

DUI laws (at least in Wisconsin) are ridiculous.  I can't understand how every week on the news we have some asshole who has had 3, 4, 5 DUIs and isn't in jail.  Really?  My DHs uncle has had 4 DUIs.  4.  Why are you allowed to drive?!  License revoked!
What about folks that snowmobile and drink...I hear about horrible accidents every year up in WI because of that!
I admit I don't hear about these very often.  I live close to Milwaukee but work around 45 minutes away near farm country where snowmobiling is really big and hear about drunk co-workers riding them.  Seems stupid to me.

    I know I shouldn't drunk dance.  I can't imagine thinking I should drunk snowmobile.

I get annoyed at people running "fundraisers" to support their businesses. That sort of defeats the point of capitalism, dude.

  • There are way too many momtographers. A DSLR and photoshop does not make you a photographer.

You have definitely hit the nail on the head with this one. I have a DSLR and Photoshop/Lightroom, but only to take qaulity pictures for our family to keep. Oh wait, maybe I should start up my own business since I have been shooting in manual mode for a few months. HA! The market has become so saturated, it kills me. People keep asking me to do their wedding/engagement/family pictures. No, I am a mom with a camera, I do not advertise myself as a professional and I fo not want people to laugh at your pictures and have my name tied to them. Nor do I want the responsibility, and I definitely am not doing it for free!

People undervalue TRULY talented photographers. I pay big bucks for my photographer, but that's because pictures are important to me. And I know how much work goes into it, it's not just taking pictures!

Joe Pa sat by and knowingly let little boys get raped for years. You acn be a PSU fan, but Joe PA is scum.

I understand why you and most people feel that way. I guess that's my biggest uo is that im still a fan of him. I'm not going to argue because I agree he should of done more and that breaks my heart. I am more angry with the president and board who swept the report joe gave him of the molestation under the rug. I see the whole situation from different angles none of which I'm sure would be accepted and I'm okay with that.

That's how I feel about building our house.  There's already been a lot of tears (on my end) and our plans aren't even finalized yet.
We considered building, but I was pretty sure our marriage wouldn't survive. Hell I wasn't sure our marriage would survive building C's playset this past weekend!

Nope.  I've seen one other S12 mom whose baby has boobs.  Although her kid's boobs might be for a reason entirely unrelated to your kid's.

Which gets me on to my food UO....
    (1) I highly judge people who try to make healthy birthday cakes.  Half the time the "healthy" part is just as unhealthy as the "healthy" ingredients.  Plusalso, your kid is 1.  I HIGHLY doubt that your one year old is going to be eating an entire birthday cake.  And if your kid does, and you let them, you're just as obtuse as the mom who makes a healthy birthday cake because you don't want your baby to have sugar/carbs/fat/whatever.

    (2) Just because it has a vegetable in it or is made with whole grains does not mean it's healthy.  There are plenty of frozen foods/convience items, and ::gasp:: even fresh foods that aren't full of fat and calories.  It seriously annoys me when moms complain that their baby/toddler is overweight and they don't understand - yet they are giving their kid 20+ oz of juice a day and plates full of processed foods and cheesy vegetables.  Bah!  Well, at least I will have a job, so go ahead - keep on promoting those unhealthy habits.
I do not get the healthy birthday cake thing.  If the only unhealthy thing your kid eats is the rare "special occasion" dessert, wtf is the point of making it "healthy?"  Just slap some whipped banana fluff on a sweet potato and let them go at that instead.

I think there can be a happy medium where you can healthfully 98% of the time and then "let them eat cake" on their birthdays.  I also think a lot of the obsession with neverever introducing your kid to unhealthy foods will backfire when they discover Cheetos and Fruit by the Foot at a friend's house.
I'm the hypocrite who does the whole grain, organic, homemade food during the week, and then lets my kid have a spoonful of ice cream/french fries/buffalo wings on the weekend. I'm making her a carrot cake for her birthday. FWIW, my DH's favorite cake is carrot cake, and I don't really think it's THAT healthy anyway. In my defense, I was raised on grape nuts and wheat germ by hippie parents.

I am convinced that the reason I have such a horrible sweet tooth is that I was not allowed to have junk food as a kid. So I literally went crazy any time I was out of my mom's sight.

  • My kids both run around naked in the backyard daily and I have taken pics. I have also shared some of them. I am ok with it.

The whole food thing annoys me. We eat a balanced diet and we also eat junk here and there. We are all happy and healthy.
I want to scream whenever I hear or read about people's newest diets.

My UO: It has never even crossed my mind to explain to other parents if they do something that I personally see as wrong. Want to feed your kid only veggies? No veggies?
Sweets? No sugar? Don't care. Potty train at 5? Diapers for life? Diaper free at 1? Don't care either.
Car seats? You want to RF until college? Turn your kid around at 14 months?
    Ok.
It is not my kid, it is none of my business.

    Flame away.

  • Sorry, my wedding was on a holiday weekend. It was July 4th which I thought was cute b/c my Canadian husband would never forget his anniversary with his American wife (it also just worked out, timing wise, so that was not the main reason for choosing that date). FFThC: I kind of regret it now. I love celebrating July 4th, but now I always feel conflicted b/c it feels like we're supposed to be celebrating our anniversary.
  • This thread is probably already dead but I finally have a UO....I think.

I think it is total BS that financial aid (grants) are based on your parents income. I know that isn't the case once you reach a certain age but I think it sucks for an 18 year old. Just because my parents do well, doesn't necessarily mean I don't need help paying for college. I got good grades in high school but got $0 in grants, while someone who didn't do as well as me got to go to college for free because his/her parents didn't do as well. I think its bullshit.

Wait, bacon isn't healthy. ::re-thinks my life::

I cannot stand the arroganc of NYers and their sports teams. I was handed down a Boston Red Sox dress for G. I will put it on, post it to my FB just because the Yankee fans will flip their shit. I couldn't care less about any sports team, but I will absolutely do what I can to piss of the Yankee/giants/jets/mets whatever lovers.
I'm a die hard Yankee and definitely not from NY. BUT, I think it's all about the rivalry. You wouldn't elicit the same reaction if you put a Padres dress on.
That's because the Padres are so bad they have no fans.

  • I hate when people tell you what to buy them for weddings, birthdays, showers, ect. My friend is getting married and her website says, "We have no need for, china, hand towels or salad spinners. We are teachers who could really use cash for school supplies, a honeymoon or a down payment on a house." If you don't want anything than just don't register.
