Hi everyone!
I'm new here and excited to "meet" some new people on the journey through pregnancy.

I'm a mother of two beautiful children. My daughter is nearly 4, and my son is about 18 months. We just found out we are expecting #3, and are overjoyed about it. Still, it's hard not to have all the typical first trimester worries. You'd think I would have gotten over those by now...
So, here's my first question for you! My last period began on July 16, which makes me 5 weeks and some change. My first prenatal appointment is set for Wednesday, August 28. That would make me about 6 weeks, give or take depending upon when I actually ovulated.
As much as I love the idea of having my first appointment as soon as possible, I don't want to risk going in too soon and not seeing a heartbeat. With #1, I saw a heartbeat at 5 weeks, 6 days. I know that's early, though.
So, would you reschedule for the following week, just to be safe? Or keep the appointment? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Secondly, for all you coffee drinkers, do you still have a cup a day? Or have you cut it out altogether? I'm often so tired keeping up with my other two that I still drink a cup a day.
Thanks for reading, everyone! See you around!
Re: Diving in with a couple questions!
As for coffee, I cut out all caffeine. There are a lot of studies liking caffeine consumption during pregnancy to all sorts of things and my fertility specialist said no caffeine. Period. I err on the side of caution and just avoid it. Then again, I'm not a die hard coffee lover.
Congrats!!!!
I think the more kids you have the more questioning you can get because with each kid you learn how beautiful, miraculous and vulnerable life REALLY is!!
Also coffee is very high in acid. That's why I had to switch to tea. Caffeine is no biggie just limit yourself. 1 cup a day. Congrats!
I would probably push the appointment back, but a lot of other ladies obviously disagree - it's a judgment call! It's hard for me to make an appointment with my work schedule, so rescheduling isn't that easy for me.
