So crazy to think that we are coming up on one year of getting our BFPs! It was one year ago today that I POAS for the heIl of it and saw a faint line. One year ago our LOs were just a ball of cells and now they are beautiful, healthy babies!

And just bc I have a picture on my iPod:

We got our BFP on 9/17, just two weeks after our 1-year anniversary. I tested way before the recommended time but I had been feeling dizzy for a few days so I decided to just try and if it was neg then I'd test again later. I peed, put the test down and we waited together, my hands were shaking as I grabbed the test and saw the faintest of lines, we couldn't believe it...we were going to be parents!

    We're all Truly Blessed.

  • I know! When LO was born I so wanted to jump to 3 months so he would be less fussy and sleep more. But now that we are here and as I look at 2 week pics I miss him being so young and small. Definitely trying to enjoy and cherish the now moments.

I conceived my baby on September 01. Labour day weekend last year. I was charting and I wasn't supposed to ovulate for until the next week when my husband would be away. I was early and the kids were out for a day while my husband was home. Everything just worked.

It was odd because you can't tell you are pregnant early but I just felt I was. I tested what should have been way too early and I saw a faint line and I cried and tested at least 6-9 times more. I just loved watching the test turn positive. I had several miscarriages and a late loss after my sons and before this pregnancy so I was terrified of what would happen. It felt so unreal. I did not think I could ever be happier but I am of course now that she is here.

I can't believe how fast this time has gone. It seems like another lifetime ago when all that happened.

    EDIT
  • I saved the pic from my BFP too. I didn't get mine till 9/20 though.

  • I got my BFP on 9/21 which was the two year anniversary of when DH proposed. It's a special day for us!

  • We found out September 5th. I took a pregnancy test before getting ready for work. When I looked at it there was the faintest double line. I remember saying "Holy cr*p" because I was so surprised since I had convinced myself it probably didn't work that month. I ran into the bedroom where my husband was still sleeping and said, "Are there two lines on this?!" Needless to say my DH woke up real quick. The line was so faint we didn't know if we should believe it or not. I'm a teacher and we had a staff meeting that morning and I remember thinking the whole time "I think I'm pregnant!" I can't believe its almost been a year since then.
  • One year ago yesterday (my 35th birthday) we decided to try for a second. I never thought that on my 36th birthday we would have an almost 3 month old.

  • I found out on our 2nd wedding anniversary in Key West!

  • Oh wow. We had decided to start trying for a second and thought it sould take time due to my PCOS. The time before by my second cycle I had gotten pregnant with DD which was impossible according to a doc. So that must have been lucky, right? This time we would surely take longer.

Ha! I took a test on a Friday and it came out negative.... Ended up getting a yeast infection( which I haven't had one since my pregnancy with DD), and went to OB. Told her I hadn't gotten my period for 6 wks and was trying to get pregnant. She asked me was there any way did I think I was preggers... I said no because I took a test 6 days ago and it was negative.
She gavel meds n a script for blood work to see if I was ovulating. That night took my meds bit something kept nagging at me...
Next day I took my test and lo and behold a positive. Called doc and she was as surprised as I was. I drove to DH work to tell him in person.
Later that week a friend did an ultrasound and we found out we had twins. However, when we went to the OB she told as one wouldn't make it. It was a stressful 8 wks, going to weekly u/s to ensure baby 1 was doing good and I hadn't miscarried. I just talked to her everyday to hang on, and here she is a year later.
  • We found out Septmeber 16th. I didn't plan on taking it since it was 5 days before my period would have come, it was also the middle of the afternoon. But the dang tests were just staring me in the face. So I finally took it and before 20 seconds even passed that test was not a misread I was expecting faint lines but they were dark and it was definitely a clear BFP! I screamed and my husband comes running thinking there was a spider haha. His reaction was priceless.
  • This is a great thread!
A year ago today I took a digital test with fmu and it came up blank! I was so upset because I was testing early so I had to use fmu so I had to wait til the next day to test again. I was so excited to see my bfp! We had been trying for 10 months since our miscarriage and were starting to think my DH may have had sperm problems.
I told my husband by showing him the test and saying "you've got great sperm baby!" Yeah I'm romantic...

We got ours Sept 2nd.  I had been sick all week, and couldn't figure out what was wrong.  I also slept for 14 hours and was stilled tired (MS hit me really hard and really early).  I didn't even think I could be pregnant, because we thought my husband had issues (he has testicular problems where his veins get knotted up, and it normally causes infertility) we had just received our referral to a fertility specialist.

We had also just found out my cancer was back, and I had just had a Pet scan a few weeks before.  I was freaking out because having a pet scan when you're pregnant is really, really bad. Thankfully they did an U/S right away and dated conception 2 weeks after the pet scan!  It was a really scary start though.

    I didn't know you had cancer - I hope you're doing OK?

  • What a fun thread! I found out mid September after 8 months of TTC. I thought something may be wrong with one of us and was going to schedule Dr. Appts after another month or two.
Well, after being extremely tired one weekend, I POAS a few days before my period was due. What a shock when it came out positive!
I had planned on doing something fun to tell my DH but we were too busy that night so I just woke him up and showed him the stick. At first he thought it was a thermometer and wondered what I was wakin him up for. (That's a difference between men and women. A woman would recognize a HPT from a mile away, haha!)
Anyway, here we ae with that stick!

  • One year ago yesterday I got my squinter of a BFP. It was so much of a squinter at 5 am that I thought I was seeing things and tossed it in the trash. I went to double check an hour later & sure enough there was a 2nd line! I POAS the next day with a wondfo & a digi just to be sure. It was such a blessing after suffering a m/c just a few months before. What a difference a year makes!!! :)

This actually made me tear up! I didn't find out until September! but I had a miscarriage in August and I was so sad. It is such a wonderful feeling when I POAS  and it was such a surprise that it came out positive!

That was us too. We thought we'd try for a baby in late June and got pregnant right away but miscarried after a few weeks. We thought it was a sign it wasn't the right time and I was going to go back on BC but I just never got my period again. Hubby made me take a test and it was positive! Now we have the most beautiful little boy!
  • It really is crazy that almost one year ago ds was conceived. I suffered a mc with my first pregnancy and I was at the doctor bc I didn't have a period two months in a row. I kept poas and it kept coming back negative. I gave up and made a doctors appt bc I figured something else was causing it. I had an ultrasound and bloodwork done. It was too early for anything to show up in the us but my hcg levels were elevated just barely. The doc said he would do another round of labs and if the levels rose I was definitely pregnant. I received the best voicemail confirming my hcg levels sky rocketed and were in the thousands. I was so excited to tell dh we were expecting and pretty terrified at the same time. I'm so lucky to have a happy and healthy son that's almost 3 months old!

  • I love these stories! Mine isn't nearly as awesome I don't think.

We weren't really trying, just taking things as they go. AF was never all that regular, but for the couple months prior we were pretty regular so I was starting to get a little concerned when I was a week late. We had friends coming in from out of town for labor day weekend (it was the 31st when I took the test) and we were going to go camping, so I figured on a whim that I should take a pee test just in case since I didn't want to drink if I was expecting. We went to our last bowling league game, stopped at walgreens on the way home and got a 3 pack. I went and POAS and I swear less than a minute later, we had very distinctive lines. I started yelling, and said "well that didn't take 5 minutes!" DH came running upstairs and was like "are you sure?!". Needless to say our friends who we were going camping with were the first to know since I couldn't drink. I took another test the following Monday, and called my mom right after.

  • It's so funny that this thread started because I was thinking that one year ago tomorrow I got my BFP!  I have pics, but they're on my phone and I have no idea how to get them onto here.  I still have the pee sticks lol

We got our BFP a year ago today :) DH and I decided in July that we would start trying. Or at least stop trying not to. lol I had been on BC for like 10 years so had no idea what my cycle would be like, but we calculated what a regular cycle would be and DTD on the days we thought I was fertile. About a week later, I woke up in the middle of the night with the worst abdominal pains, to the point that I thought that DH was going to need to take me to the hospital. Then after about 10 min they went away. Two days later, I woke up at around 7am with the same thing. Once I could stand up straight again, I thought, something was off. So I POAS. It was a week before my period was due, so I figured it would be neg, but I knew something was going on with my body. I got a BFP. DH was at work but was due home around lunch. I texted him to come home as soon as he could around 11. He rushed home because I was cramping again and was worried. I showed him the stick. He had a big smile on his face. The of course we were worried about the cramping, so I called the doc. After a few weeks they got better and the doc confirmed all was okay with an u/s at 6 weeks.

  • Oh I love this!!  Especially those of you with such great stories of overcoming IF.

My day was yesterday, 8-24.  I remember being up really early and wanting to use FMU.  After I got the positive, I woke my husband up.  We celebrated for awhile and I was still awake and didn't have to get up and moving anytime soon so I came to this May 2013 board and posted my intro.  It's crazy to think that it was a year ago!  We were planning to take a trip to Greece this May and at the last minute I didn't want to book it.  It felt like a long time to postpone TTC.  I remember thinking that if we were lucky that month, we'd be holding a baby in our arms in May.  The rest is history and we've never regretted not going on that cruise!
