With our first we started calling it "binkie " but then there are so many "b" words associated with having a baby blanket, burpie, bottle, bib, etc. So then we started calling it "nukie " and that stuck and that's what we'll call it again this time!

We call it a "chupi." It's like a nickname for "chupar" which means to suck in Spanish. I never gave it much thought but it's a natural thing to call it in my family
