I chose not to have DS circumcised, for many reasons, including that DH is not....sorry for TMI. I got a lot of grief about it from my family but hearing both my family and DH family side of the story I was convienced I would not have it done.
Well a friend of mine is anti-circumcision, she posts things all the time about it, not taking others feelings into consideration. Tonight she posted a youtube link, showing the procedure! Why I felt the need to watch it, idk, but OMG! I feel 100% that I made the right decision for my family. I couldnt even watch it all, i almost passed out, the baby was screaming, oh lord! I just wish I wouldnt have opened the link! Im seriously crying!
I believe everyone chooses what is right for their family. I do not judge at all when it comes to these kind of topics so Im honestly not trying to start a debate. I just hope everyone does their research and weighs the options.
This is more of a vent....im scarred

I've performed dozens of circumcisions. Obviously there are various methods for anesthesia and procedure method, and you should educate yourself on them and which ones your hospital/doctors use.
We injected lidocaine into both sides of the penis for clamp or plastibel. Sometimes babies flipped out, sometimes they slept through the whole thing. I guarantee they felt 2 shots into their penis, and that after they felt nothing else from a pain perspective.
I think some babies lose their brains because either they are hungry or it's just an uncomfortable position. They're used to floating around in the uterus, now they are strapped on a papoose board. In my hospital, an extra person was always there to comfort the baby with sugar water, a paci, and some shushes.
My recommendation? I'm completely neutral on the topic. It is absolutely an individual decision and no one should have an opinion on.
ETA: We will be circumcising LO. Simply because DH wants to and to avoid an awkward question down the future when the 2 are bathing.
I will NOT be watching the procedure... DH can if he wants to. I trust the medical professionals.
My cat can read EKGs, can your human do that?

Also, look into female circumcision and what that entails.

Just remember a lot of people do this for religious reasons and that is why I steer clear of this debate, no matter what my personal feelings on the topic.
Now I have a friend who husband was not and was having a lot of problems and just had to get circumcised as an adult. After hearing that story it kind of makes me want to do it when they are young and can't remember it vs. As an adult. I know it doesn't happen to everyone but it can happen.

@benjaminsmommy16 -- You keep saying this, yet you haven't named a single one in your posts here. I don't doubt that there are valid arguments on both sides, I just seriously roll my eyes at anyone who makes a claim like this and doesn't attempt, even in an anecdotal way, to provide more info.
This sounds like exactly what I was talking about with the anti-vax chick in the March 2014 UO. The way I picture this in my head is you crossing your arms and saying "I'm right because I say so and I don't have to prove anything to anyone" and then virtually stomping your feet out of the thread. Grow some balls and prove your point.
ETA: Here's another time you said it:
A million, huh?

(ETA: Just to clarify to everyone, understand =/= agree.)
You have a right to no longer want to follow religion, but you shouldn't throw your judgement out there for people that do make decisions for religious reasons.

As a Catholic myself I found your post to be offensive and misleading. Plus I don't go knocking on peoples doors saying you were baptized in the catholic church you must come to church.
