Repeat scans because of baby's position

I'm going in for my second repeat 20wk scan because my baby head is so far down in my pelvis that they can't look at its head properly. Don't get me wrong i love getting an extra look or two at my baby but I'm getting sick of forking out the bill to go with it! Does anyone know of any tricks to help turn it up the other way before I go in for my next scan? Like standing on my head or shaking it around a lot in there! :-/

Re: Repeat scans because of baby's position

  • Your insurance doesn't cover sonograms? Try orange juice about half hour to an hour before your scan. The natural sugars might encourage some wiggling, and its better for you than soda. Good luck!

  • I have had to go back with both DD and this LO. I tried the orange juice trick and it didn't work. My LOs at 20 weeks didn't like to be touched and would always curl up. By 24 weeks they were head down and were more cooperative. I also normally have my GD testing at the same time and that drink seems to get them moving a little too.
  • So I'm going to be the terrible person on this post, FYI. Before my scan I ate an apple and some skittles and drank 1/2 a coke. Baby was super wiggly...totally on a sugar high, but they got all the views they wanted.
