So who here likes cream cheese frosting? I made some and have some cake... We could always turn this thread towards donuts or favorite flavor cake. Who wants to play?

    Mmmm. Cake.

One of the BEST things about our wedding day was the cake. Super moist lemon cake with a raspberry filling and thick buttercream icing.

I dream about that cake sometimes.

And cream cheese frosting? I could eat that shiz out of the container. Delicious.
This.  I am seriously thinking it would be a complete waste of a good cake to make it sit in the freezer til the 1 year mark.
Agreed. I'm having our top layer re-created for our one year. It was white sponge cake layered with fresh strawberries and buttercream with a hint of orange liqueur and white buttercream icing.

::raises hand:: Cream cheese frosting!? When/where!? Have you heard of the Cronut? Dying to try!!
What is a cronut?! I wanted to try the donut burger but my husband would have none of it. He was horrified at the notion. But really, look at this, what could go wrong? image

@gonzol : we are HIO every night since 39 weeks! I'm going for some eggplant Parmesan and stuffed jalapeño tomorrow. This is redonkculous!

That looks deadly. I want to try it, but without the sausage. I know what I'm eating for breakfast tomorrow!
LOL, i totally thought that was a hamburger. I threw up in my mouth a little. But now that you point out its a sausage...

LOL. At first glance, I thought it was a hamburger, too. I had to calm myself down and explain, "Self, everything will be okay. America did not put a hamburger on a donut. It is just sausage." Still, I'd ditch the sausage...maybe I can get extra bacon.

We forgot about our cake at the year mark and had some at our two.  There's still some left and its still delicious! I might grab a piece from time to time!

  • really, all i wanted was to talk about the 2WW, i didnt know there was a thread for that already, the new set up was confusing and i didnt know where to look so i made a new one.i really thought that it would turn into one of those amazing posts that i've read that women are celebrating and commenting, and sharing their experiences. I didnt think that people would tell me that i picked the wrong board and i should go away. I didnt want people to tell me that my sympoms meant that i was pregnant or that its only PMS, but i wanted people to share their 2WW stories and their symptoms and how crazy they were for waiting around the 2 weeks, and what they did in the mean time. i was not trying to be annoying with the baby dust stuff. honestly, i really like that phrase, i dont see it as ground up babies, im not disturbed. i see it as, like, wishing on a star, or crossing fingers, or anything like that. something magical, and cute, something fun and silly. Im not a troll, and im 23. and i have major baby fever, all of my friends either have babies or are pregnant, even my sister is pregnant, and i have been trying longer than her. my husband and i have prayed about this so much, and we feel it is the right time to try. its so hard because i have been irregular, then when i did get pregnant, i lost it. it was so hard. then i got on maca root, which i have been taking this whole cycle and it seems to have helped me. my charting says i ovulated on the 14, which is good cause thats the "normal" so, i hope that i am. but i dont want to get my hopes up because if its not, then i'll be even more heartbroken and i kinda just want to give up. thats another reason i posted. i really wanted to hear peoples stories about their TTC, and their success.

im sorry this is long, i know you guys dont care. i give up. you win. i'll just go away.

I know I'm totally going to ruin the sandwich - but I don't eat meat, or eggs. Sooo, i'm gonna stick a block of tofu, a little tempeh bacon and some soy patty 'sausage' on that thing. I doubt it will lose much of its appeal.

So long as you have substitutes for everything and don't strip it down to just the donut, you'll keep the spirit of it alive. Otherwise, you'll have just a very expensive glazed donut.

Or you could stop your sniffling and have a donut. Seriously. Remove the stick from your ass and stop thinking just about yourself. Lighten up. Have a drink and some bacon. It's not all that serious.

Apologize for acting like a brat and move on. Life is short to get this worker up over a message board, man.

Seriously, if you re-read what I originally wrote, I never told you to go away. I said that if you wanted to post about your symptoms, you either needed to post in the 2WW thread or you could go to a different site and see if that was more your speed. You totally lost it on me when I was genuinely trying to help you fit in better around here. Becoming part of a community means giving in a little bit to the norms and customs of that community. It also means you don't get to dictate what sort of advice you receive from people.

Maybe a break from Internet TTC sites would be a good idea for now. Not because I am telling you to leave, but because it really seems like you aren't emotionally ready for this sort of thing.

  • So who here likes cream cheese frosting? I made some and have some cake... We could always turn this thread towards donuts or favorite flavor cake. Who wants to play?
    Me! Love cream cheese frosting.

Obsession = Donuts, especially Dunkin Donuts

I like to bake and decorate cakes, but don't really enjoy eating them unless they're in cupcake form. Weird? My mom makes a pretty rocking strawberry poke cake though. :)

Our one year anniversary is in two weeks, and the top tier of our cake (minus the arch which is in my china cabinet) is in the freezer waiting for us to gobble up.  Our cake was absofreakinglutely amazing to look at, and to eat as well, I can't wait for another taste!

Delicious.
I do eat that shiz out of the container sometimes. Shh... Don't tell :)

At one of the professional, but not MLB ballparks here in St. Louis, they do in fact have a bacon cheeseburger between two donuts. Sorry guys.

really, all i wanted was to talk about the 2WW, i didnt know there was a thread for that already, the new set up was confusing and i didnt know where to look so i made a new one.i really thought that it would turn into one of those amazing posts that i've read that women are celebrating and commenting, and sharing their experiences.

If you had just posted this in the first place, this thread would have been entirely different.  I heard you got good advice earlier on.  (I'm not going back to read but I believe it.)  Take it.  Lurk. Read the Newbie blog. Don't over analyze things.  And, after this, you may wish to change your sn.
Yep. This. I'm sorry you were disappointed, OP, but throwing a fit was really not a productive way to handle it. What you just posted would have been better.
Wow it took me forever to read all this! I'm commenting just as a reward to myself for reading it all. I completely agree that if you had posted this in the beginning I would have told you how sorry I was for your loss and tell you the plan we used to conceive my daughter and my experiences with MC and TTC etc. However, now I don't feel right telling you any of that. I will recommend you change your SN as well and do an intro thread. Good luck with life.
  • OP: I'm not listening to you La la la. I do what I want. La la la I'm not here to make friends, I'm here to list off my symptoms and annoy people. Baby dust tee hee hee! Omg move on! Why aren't you moving on? Can't you see I'm mature? I am, I am, I am!! /foot stomping. PP: have you ever tried a cronut? Look at this donut burger. Prim, why haven't you popped out your loin fruit? OP: These pictures are stupid and god all you can talk about is food?! Translation: pay attention to meeeeeeeeeeeee! /stomp! PP: I can eat my wedding cake now right? Dooooooo eeeeeet!
    Thanks for the recap. :)

Oh cool! Thanks for sharing :D I have tried to decorate cakes but I'm not so great at it... They always end up looking lopsided :/

  • @kboughan goodness gravy girl! Where was this pleasantness earlier?? It's much easier to talk when you let your walls down and don't jump down people's throats.

well its not my fault if people get annoyed. that is their choice, i just come on here for fun posting my symptoms, it doesnt matter if i am preggers or not, i can still have fun and find support on this site. the reason i come on the bump is that there is never too much to post, everyone always has something to say. and this site is kept up and is recent. although i think a lot of women on here take things too personally or get jealous of people who have not been trying as long as they have and have been getting more success. I am not trying to annoy anyone, and i

    baby dust to all!! :D
Might want to watch the bolded things above. More examples of comments that won't be welcome around here.

Yeah, that jealousy comment sucks balls for sure. I am kinda new too though, and I don't understand why "baby dust" is not ok. I don't really use it, but didn't see anything about it in the newbie post.

Well I mean let's face it. We all do get pretty jealous of the BFPs. I mean I sure as shit do.. Maybe she shouldn't have made that comment for those who are sensitive to that word, but it doesn't bother me none. Cause it's the truth. Or at least for me it is. Op, From what i've read I think JJ is being as nice as she possibly wants to with you in giving advice. Take it or leave.

you know what, it doesnt matter if i have been imagining it or not. i dont really care, its exciting to think that these symptoms are pregnancy symptoms. and if they are not, well, at least my husband and I have been having fun trying. I dont really understand people who insist on downing other people. this is more for me to express how i feel, and what i think, not saying "omg, i think im pregnant because of... " this is me saying, "hey, here are some signs that i dont normally have and are related with pregnancies"... so either way, this is an outlet for me. I dont really have anyone else to talk to, so i come on here for support and to tell someone what is going on with me. and why not obsess with this for the past 6 months, if I dont chart and stuff how will i know when im ovulating, when the best time to have sex would be?? this is an amazing time for me, and i like obsessing over little things and big things.
I was the same exact way for the first 6 months we started trying.  Obsessing over every.single."symptom." Not downing you at all, but honestly, you will most likely get tired of obsessing. I temped since Feb. and had to take a break this month bc it got to be too stressful, me obsessing over every single temperature and what they may POSSIBLY mean. And especially the Pregnancy Monitor on Fertility Friend that gives you so many points each day that you are "possibly" pregnant based on temps and signs. The ladies here are right in the fact that the more you think about it, you will start to experience symptoms that make you think you are pregnant.  And you very well may be!! Hopefully you are!!  And for those that have been on these boards regularly for quite some time, it does get a little annoying to see the same questions over and over that no one can answer but you and a test. BUT, from experience (I am nearing the end of my 2WW on our 10th cycle, so we are approaching a year trying with no success yet), you just kinda get used to it (not necessarily disappointment if it takes awhile) but the "symptoms." And honestly, they aren't as numerous now for me as they were in the first few months of starting to try. I am more relaxed about it now, not trying to analyze every thing my body is doing.  Because so far, it hasn't been what I thought each time. And I'm not feeling as crazy and impatient in the 2WW as I had before.  You just go on with your life like normal, and before you know it, it's either time to test or AF makes her appearance!  Best wishes to you and I hope you get your positive very soon!!!
