Call me a stick in the mud, but I think old wives tales and related posts are silly. This opinion was in part formed by my crazy family who puts way too much stock into them. My aunt is always asking me about heartbeats, if I swung my wedding band over my belly to see what direction it swings, and how my complexion looks...
It took me two times to pass statistics in college, but even I know that they have about a 50/50 shot of working...

That's all I got for now.
Going off of that... I hate when people look at you and automatically think they know what you're having. My aunt did that to me at 7 weeks "oh, it's definitely a boy" and I'm all "OMG, I barely have a belly, STFU!" Andplusalso? I look the same with all of my kids. Sigh.
I don't understand the purpose of and and I side-eye the shit out of anyone who registers for/ buys a baby bathtub. Blooming bath, sure. Mesh thingy, sure. A mini tub with a spout? No.
ETA- for some reason baby bathtubs make me rageful.
I don't know if this is really an UO, but when they announced the name George for the baby? I threw up in my mouth a little. #sodisappointing
Well that's at least an unpopular opinion in my book. I love the name!!! George is a family name (mom's maiden name) for me so I'm partial to it though.

Agree. When I visited my family last pregnancy I was examined from all directions by my grandmom and elderly aunts to see how I was carrying...talk about awkward.

Well I don't know what a blooming bath is, but I have a EuroBath and it rocks my world when I have an infant. I recommend that shit to everyone.
@cara1024 & @ccip82 - See then it IS an UO. #winning I just find George to be super boring and think there are so many more/better classic names that they could of gone with. Not that I think they had much of a choice, given it was the Queen's father's name. But even Alexander is better than George (although I was hoping for James!)

DD loved her whale and would still take tubbies in it...if she fit!

Mine is that I seriously couldn't care less about the royal baby or what his name is. That kid seriously doesn't need us he has everything, how about we think about the newborns around the world who weren't born into a life of privilege.
I don't like yellow mustard. I don't like chicken wings or any meat still on the bone, nor do I like buffalo sauce. And i don't like peanut butter, unless its in the form of reeses pieces. AND I like Sprees better than Smarties. So there.

What's the reasoning behind not like tubs? Are they a waste? I'm genuinely wondering

We have guests staying with us this week. I am deathly allergic to strawberries so we asked them not to bring strawberries home. Yesterday I open my refrigerator to 5 pieces of strawberry cheesecake, oozing the death strawberry juice all over the top shelf. When i ask the husband about it he says oh, we forgot. Ummmm... ok... thanks for contaminating my refrigerator.

ETA: Don't get excited about your own pregnancy then, because there are people out there that can't get pregnant! THINK OF THEM!

Ok tub lovers... Where do you store that shit?! Maybe they offend me because my place is so small.
whale > euro bath.
Currently, it is shoved under one of our guest twin beds. When DD used it, we kept it in the shower and when DH or I showered we would place it on the floor.
Re: bathtub storage (I tried to quote/reply, but it made a new post) We have a small house- and the tub lives in the bathroom, propped against the wall. Its not convenient, and if were having lots of guests over i will put it under her crib or in a closet/. But we don't have a dishwasher either, so our kitchen sink regularly has dishes in it.. and Im just weirded out by washing my kid where I wash my dishes.
The thought of this completely grosses me out too.
I love British royalty. (Maybe that's a UO by itself). The queen has been in service for a very long time and I'm just ready for her to go, or abdicate, or whatever. Just turn things over and move on. I'm not saying she needs to die or I'm gonna put a hit out on her, it's just feeling stagnant to me.

Agreed. I was hoping she would leave shortly after her Diamond Jubilee, or whatever it was called. That's it, Queen Elizabeth, YOU WON. Time to move on. Poor Charles... he'll be king for like a minute.
My UO is that I don't like popular opinions trying to pass off as UO. If you post that you think that a pregnant woman shouldn't throw a baby shower for herself or that skinny jeans are not for everyone, well in my book those are pretty freaking popular. (So good job mrs.jenni on the your UO!)
Oh and another one - my UO is that helmets on tricycles are not necessary. Maybe my kids are weird but they run (without a helmet) way faster than they can pedal their trike. When they move up to the big-boy bike with training wheels they get a helmet. Otherwise they go without. I'm assuming this is an UO because of the amount of tods with helmets on trikes I see around.

Pros: - DD was easily propped up in there in a comfortable position-making it easy to wash her when she was a newborn.
-Cleans easily in the event your kid decides to shit where she bathes
-Grows well with your infant. DD used it from newborn to about 14 months
-Comes with a handy accessory for washing baby's head
Ok tub lovers... Where do you store that shit?! Maybe they offend me because my place is so small.
whale > euro bath.
We have a mesh angle thing that sits in our regular tub. Works perfect and takes up miniscule space. I'm like you. I think baby baths are huge and a waste of space and money.

Oh and another one - my UO is that helmets on tricycles are not necessary.
If they are riding anything with wheels and there is a possibility a motor vehicle or another bike/trike could hit them they need a helmet. eta: fenced back yard or park alone- sure.

This would be a UO to me. While I get your point that kids run faster than they can pedal their trike, I think it is important to instill good safety habits as soon as you introduce trikes and bikes to kids.
On the helmet topic, I also don't think my 2 year old needs a helmet to ride his scooter around the fenced park / in our apartment. He never goes faster than I can walk, he never rides it on the sidewalk or near cars, and he's not even off the ground!
Another mom in my building has given me a hard time for him not wearing a helmet on the scooter - of course, her daughter seems to wear a helmet just to walk on the sidewalk, so we might be coming from different places on this topic.
