Infertility

That's Awkward!

Awkward moment #547682, courtesy of being a frequent flyer at the RE's office:

Was at the RE's office over 5 hours ago, and JUST NOW realized that my leggings and panties have been on backwards for that entire time! I've been to the grocery store, out to walk the dog, to the pharmacy, and home again. ETA: I was in a rush to get dressed after my time with the magic wand and I must've just pulled them on blindly! Remember when it was your first few visits to the RE and you even planned your outfit carefully? ha! Now I can't even get dressed properly following an appointment and I clearly don't care at all!

Who else wants to share?

;) Happy Friday, friends...!

Re: That's Awkward!

  • Ha! I used to try to look nice, which meant on wknds and holidays when we had to leave at 5am for appointments two hours away I would get up at like 4. Now I'm out of bed at like 4:50. I feel like ivf 2 is a completely different experience that way lol

  • Ha!  At my ET Wednesday my RE had a bottle in his hand and for some reason I thought it was a bottle of water and he wanted me to drink more. (I had to relieve myself a tad when I got there because I was dying.) so I said, "Is that water? Because if so, I'm good."  He opened his hand and I saw "cervix wash" written on it. He said it was really his flask that he carries around all day to keep people from getting suspicious. It took awhile for him for him to get my personality, but I think he finally "gets me" now.  I'm the queen of speaking now, thinking later.

  • I can't tell you how many times I've put my underwear on inside out when I left the RE's office!  The most embarrassing thing I did was about a week ago.  I put my skirt back on after the appointment and went to the grocery store, then home.  DH looked at me and asked if I'd been "walking around like that the whole time."  I looked down to discover I'd hooked the top of my skirt together but never zipped the zipper!  I was showing a big chunk of hip skin and underwear to the whole world!  Fortunately it was a side zipper, if I'd been showing my butt crack it would have been awful! I almost died of laughter and embarrassment.

When they took dh back to give his contribution, I told him "have fun.". Loudly. In front of the whole waiting room. And then I realized what I did and got the giggles so bad!

When DH had his first SA, they sent him into this horrible, 3 stall, public bathroom to "beat it like it owed him money" (his expression- not mine)!

Well. Fast forward a year to Shady Grove. DH gets escorted into a collection room. Apparently, the nurse showed him around, pointed out the TV, the tissues, and the magazines. When he emerged 2 minutes later, he said to me, and to everyone else within ear shot "They had magazines....but none with midgets or grannies". Then he burst out laughing. And I spent the entire drive home thinking that they are never going to let us 2 twisted individuals reproduce.
