Re: ~*~ August Shooting Stars Check In ~*~
My first ivf I was a mess, I googled ALL the time and stressed a lot. This time is so much easier and more relaxed. Maybe because I know what to expect? Maybe because I got a bfn and somehow survived? I hope everyone has a stress free...I know haha...cycle! I think the worry was worse than any shots or anything else. GL ladies

Morning!
Nothing new here. Still waiting on my protocol. Still bleeding away on BCP. 21 days and counting...blerg.
QOTD: First cycle I really tried hard to take one day at a time. It was actually easier once I got going. The "waiting to start cycle" is actually the worst for me as far as anxiety. One day at a time, one shot at a time. Good luck to everyone!

Not much going on right now. Meds will be delivered tomorrow. Start Lupron on 7/24. Going to drop off my contract and pay my balance...bleh!
QOTW: I've been getting into working out again. I always just try to take things one day at a time, if I think of all the injections I have to give myself, I might puke.
TTC since July 2011
BFP #1: 2/15/12-Ectopic/Mtx at 6 wks
BFP #2: 10/12/12-m/c at 5 wks.
Me: MTHFR, Low AMH (1.1), High NK cells and Antiphospholipid Antibodies.
IVF with ICSI in August 2013 brought us our babies. ER-9R, 7M, 4F w/ICSI ET of 2-Grade 2 blasts.
Dx shortened cervix, PTL, and preeclampsia during pregnancy. Lots of medications and 13 weeks of bedrest, babies were born healthy at 34w4d!
Still on BCP and I start Lupron in 9 days. My meds are being delivered tomorrow and DH and I are getting our consents notorized on Wednesday. Once they are notorized, I'll turn them in and I think that is the last of the paperwork. Whew.
QOTD: To relieve stress I usually try to relax and read a book.

PAIF/SAIF Welcome!
Ugh. I paid my balance last Friday. It was a hard check to write. I noticed on the bill I recieved it said something about a contract, but I never was given a contract. I have my consents but I was told that those aren't due until the 24th and we're planning on getting those turned in the 17th.
I feel like in our rush to make it into this cycle, we got left out of the loop.

PAIF/SAIF Welcome!
good morning Ladies,
As you can see my SN has changed, thank you bump gods. I stopped BCP on wed and have yet to have any real action, mostly extremely light spotting. I'll checking in with my nurse this morning and either just getting the green light to start the patches or going in for an u/s to check if i can start the patches. Last time i never bled off BCP and they just rolled me into the cycle so I imagine this time will be much the same.
Lots of anxiety in our house of this try, somehow it is worse than the first one. It's our last chance, a hail mary if you will, and we are terrified. We can't even bring ourselves to talk about it much. Just sparse mentions of the logistics surrounding the transfer and my sister moving in unexpectedly in the same time frame.
QOTD: last time, I pretty much failed at relieving stress, this time I am doing acupuncture and yoga. I also plan to start art journaling again since its always been such a big part of me and for some reason I let go of it last year.

LONG road through IF ending in heartbreak and frustration.
Hey ladies! Started Lupron on Saturday. So far, so good.
QOTD: Letting go. The thing that helps me most is remembering we've already done everything within our control to influence the success of this cycle -- chosen an RE we trust and decided on a protocol. Right now there is little more I can do, personally, to change the outcome. Thinking about that, especially during freakout moments, feels good to me. My acupuncturist recommended repeating "hello, let go" with each breath while meditating (which I don't really do), or if I'm feeling tense. It works for me.
Began TTC #1 in Sept. 2010. I was 33, DH was 36.. Dx with DOR and slight MFI (8/4/11).
Test results (after first RE visit 6/21/11): 7DPO b/w: Progesterone = 11.3; CD3 b/w: FSH = 10.1 mUnits/mL, E2= 52.0 pg/mL, AFC: 6; SIS Ultrasound: Uterus great, tubes clear! AMH: 0.3

We welcomed the most beautiful baby girl into the world on September 11, 2014!
I'm so excited to be a shooting star!!
I am currently in the prep stage for my first IVF. On BCP and starting stims 7/25 if all goes according to plan. I am reading pretty much every single post on the IF board to gain any knowledge/tips/wisdom I can get.
QOTD: This is my first cycle, and I relieve stress by surrounding myself by friends, family, and positive people. While I'm nervous about this IVF process, DH and I agree that we can handle anything for a month, or however long this takes. This process is not forever, and it will all be worth it in the end. We are enjoying our time together and look forward to monitoring appointments and the excitement of our ER day. I love that man!
Happy Monday to all of the other shooting stars!
I'm on BCP's until 7/29 for my FET #2. I hate BCP's and how nauseous they make me feel! UGH.
QOTD: This will be FET #2 (from IVF #1). My RE does not believe/require bedrest, but for FET #1, I took off the entire week after my transfer. It drove me absolutely crazy and I think that it actually did not help to be off for that long. I stressed out and analyzed every little thing b/c I had the time to. For this FET I'll be taking off the day of, but no other days (partially b/c I don't think work would approve and partially because I don't want to drive myself crazy! We will see.

**PAIF/anyone welcomed to comment!! Thank you.
Started my Lupron shots on Friday, so 4 shots done as of this morning. The first shot, I definitely got all worked up for, but so far they have not been nearly as bad as I thought they would be! I am just hoping they continue to be relatively easy as I chug along.
QOTD: So far, my stress relief has been eating (not the best idea I suppose), cuddling with Parker and trying to enjoy the sunny weather with evening walks in the park.

Well donor had her ER this past sun and waiting on fert report.
I am on BCP and begin depot lupron aug 8th.
I stay relaxed by continuing working and focusing on that and getting a bunch of fun shows set up on DVD and of course walking the dogs. I will begin acupuncture again in aug.
I started Follstim last night! I was so nervous and felt I was doing it all wrong! I have blood work this wednessday, although I don't know why they didn't schedule an US for Wed?
QOTD: I usually work out, but recently hurt my foot, so I am limited. With what little time I have after work, I am in a musical that just happened to fall at this time. Nuts! This, of course, is not helping my ankle. So, guess the stress thing is not in check right now! Gotta figure something out!
Still no update here. I'm expecting AF this week and then BCPs to follow.
QOTD: Last time around I was pretty calm, up until the ER. I just had no idea what to expect with that. This time around I'm doing acupuncture, so I think that should help some more as well. Plus, I've done this once, there should be no surprises, right?!???

Thanks. They had forgotten to send me an IVF packet that contained the new patient forms and had to fax them to me last minute before I met with my IVF nurse. I just had one of those "Oh Sh!t" moments thinking they forgot to send me something else. DH is right, I need to work on chilling out.

QOTD: I am actually a lot less stressed because in working now if that makes sense. For both IUI and first four cycles of IVF I worked from home and/or wasn't working. All I had was time to think. Now that I'm working I've for something to keep my mind occupied which in turn keeps me less stressed

Hello,
Ready for my trial transfer, and hysteroscopy this Thursday. Should be starting stims next week. No BCP for me because of the Factor V.
I spend about an hour today on the phone with the financial consultant. I switched insurance in 2013 and my previous insurance would have been better. I wish I never switched. Overall I should be about $4K OOP which I know is not terrible, but it would be closer to $1K if I had kept my old insurance.
As for relieving stress, I eat, drink and shop. None of these things are good for my weight or wallet.
Hope everyone is having a nice week!
Happy Monday ladies!
Started my last week of BCP
Think I may have the mess of getting my meds settled, but will know tomorrow for sure when I go to pick it up. Estrace and vivelle were covered by insurance with no issue, but despite being in an approved IF treatment cycle, insurance denied my Crinone and said I needed prior auth. RE did all the paperwork and sent it in. Pharmacy heard back that it was approved, but for one time only. So if this cycle is successful I will have to fight with insurance to let me get refills. DH and I also took care of getting our Embryo Thaw Consent signed and notarized; sent it in the mail Thursday to the RE.
After much personal debate about how many embryos to culture, I have finally reached a level of comfort with the high number that the RE is recommending.
Current stress is around getting off the day that I need for my FET. Of course we are understaffed that day because of summer vacations and the person who I thought would be able to work for me cannot. Should have just called in sick that day!
QOTD: Honestly, I am really bad about handling stress, especially ad somebody with anxiety issues to begin with! I am trying to get back into hobbies I previously had but gave up with the stress of IF treatment. Stopped at the fabric store yesterday and picked up some fabric and a new cross stitch that I started last night.
Me: 31, PCOS DH: 37, low morph and low counts
IVF #1 Lupron/GonalF (Dec 2012)= 30R, 21M, 21F with ICSI, 18 HIP frosties!!!
FET in August 2013
Nothing new here. Still on bcp.
During my first ivf I stressed quite a bit. I just tried to stay busy. I found that down time gave me time to think... And google. That's not a good combo for infertiles! Please stay away from google. It stressed me out big time.
Hi Ladies!
We are starting IVF Round #2. Our issues are related to me having had my tubes tied 14 years ago. I'm remarried now (8 years...) and my husband has no children of his own. We cycled in the spring with not luck. Our RE is upping the stims protocol to try to get more follicles and end up hopefully with a 5dt and some freezy pops.
Last cycle we had 10 follicles, 7 mature, 5 fertilized, and we did a 3dt with a beautiful 8 cell and 6 cell. Our remaining two deteriorated before the 5 day freeze. I knew things were over 10 days past transfer when I started heavy bleeding - i was convinced I didnt even have a uterus left.
Everything about that first cycle was off from the get go. I did the BCP after my February period and when I was supposed to stop them to start our cycle it took 40 DAYS for my period to start. Then we jumped right into our IVF cycle and I was still so hopped up on BCP and hormones that everything was swollen - not to mention the massive rapid weight gain.
This time we are going with my natural cycle...which should start any minute now. And hitting the stims harder to get a better retrieval/fertilization ratio and hopefully make it to a 5 day transfer.
We expect our retrieval around August 2 - but last time they retrieved a few days early because I responded so well...we shall see! I should start stims by this weekend!!
Meds - Follistim/Menopur/Ganirellix
I have a fantastic group of friends that are all in various stages of TTC that are a fantastic support for me. I am so blessed to have so many women who know what I'm going through and are ready to be leaned on! They help pass those dreaded TWWs!! If I POAS early, I'll probably tell them before I tell my DH!! (JK...maybe...)
Good luck to all of you!
Hi August ladies
I'm on CD6 and am due to meet with my specialist next week to see if I can still cycle next month. I have obviously missed the window for a long down reg cycle with BCP's but the nurse coordinator said that they could work around that and use a different medication. I'm nervous about my appointment next week but hopefully we have good news.
QOTD: Aside from The Bump I am on the internet far less. I found that the more research I did the more it stressed me out. I'm exercising more and doing as many things as I enjoy to stay positive

Hi Ladies!
Hope you don't mind me jumping in! I thought that I would be a Firefly and that didn't turn out, but as longs as AF shows up in the next 28 days(but who's counting) I will actually be a Shooting Star! My history is in my siggy and I can't wait to see what this cycle holds for all of us! We are getting close to the end of our journey, we may have this cycle and maybe one more depending on how our frosties do at thaw, so I am really trying my best not to worry about things too much.
QOTD: My version of stress relief is to just try not to think about it, most of the time it does not work out too well!
