  • I'd pronounce it like you, uh-mahl-yah
  • It's my cousin's name.  We pronounce it ah-ma-lee-ah. But she mostly goes by Mali (pronounced similar to Molly, but with an a.)

  • Like Amelia but with "mahl" in the middle. Three syllables.

Me too. Three syllables, not four. I really like it, said like that.

This. Like Amelia, but with the MAHL instead of MEEL.  Love the name!

It’s not that I don’t like you, it’s that I don’t know you. Stranger Danger.

I think it can go either way, just like some people say "Jool-yuh" and some draw it out more like "Joo-lee-yuh" for the name Julia.

I guess it just depends on how much I am paying attention. It is not a full on "ee-uh," but not really just "yuh" either. I guess I get a little diphthong of "ee" in there. I don't say "ah" at the beginning like I do with Amelia, Audrey, etc.

LOL. I don't know if that helps. It is kind of like explaining how Miles is not two syllables, but sounds like it is because of the diphthong. I probably made my explanation much more confusing than it needed to be. Haha.

    Love Amalia, btw.

All of this exactly for me, too! :-)
