Bouncing on exercise ball?

I am 21 weeks and I know women bounce on an exercise ball to help labor along, is it safe to do that now? I like sitting on it and rocking side to side and stuff to help posture. I just dont wanna hurt baby.

Re: Bouncing on exercise ball?

  • Definitely safe.  If you continue to do it as you progress then it will also help in positioning your baby in the best position for birth.  I hear to keep your hips higher than your knees.

  • Sitting on an exercise ball is the only way I found any comfort while laboring.  I am buying one the next time I go out because the pressure on my hips is getting painful...also I'm really hopeful baby will be facing the right way this time because man does that make for a difficult labor.
