Infertility

Intro

Good Morning! I have been on the bump for awhile now and have been a frequent poster in the TTC message board. However we have moved on from the IUI's into the IVF journey and I was told that this board had more of the IVF ladies on here for support and questions. I have had my mock trail done and I am have started the Lupron shot once a day and the Follistim shots twice a day. I have been pretty sick to my stomach but the nurse told me this is common side affect of the medications so I am trying not to focus on it and just keep moving ahead one day at a time! Our expected date of ER is July 15th and I VERY nervous about the procedure itself so any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks ladies and I look forward to getting to know all of you!!

PS My siggy wont update so I do apologize for it being not up to date!!

  • Welcome! Sorry you have to be here, but you will find a lot of support from ladies going through the same thing. My ER is tentatively scheduled for 3 days after yours.

I totally get your nervousness about the procedure, but you will be under anesthesia and won't know a thing! You'll just go to sleep and then wake up when it's all done. I was nervous the first time I went under, but I suffer from chronic kidney stones and have had several minor surgeries to remove them. It's really no big deal! You'll probably be sore after, but extra-strength Tylenol should help (or your RE might prescribe you something stronger).

Also, to update your siggy you need to save like 20 times. Just keep saving until the update shows up.

    Good luck!

  • Welcome to the board! These ladies have been lifesavers for me this cycle! I was nervous about ER, too. Everyone kept telling me that it's the easiest part. I should have believed them. Seriously, they knock you out, you wake up, take some vicodin and life is good again! You'll be a little sore after, but it is seriously not as bad as I'd dreamed it up to be in my head! You'll do great!!
