Prenatal massage question

I got a prenatal massage today, which was amazing! Super thankful to my mother in law, who set it all up for my birthday present. So the weird thing is, ever since the massage, I haven't had any heartburn!! I haven't gone a single day in the past 4 weeks without heartburn, so I'm wondering if it's related to the massage? Definitely not complaining, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, or if anyone has any potential explanations?

Re: Prenatal massage question

  • I can't say for sure...massage is amazing as a natural remedy. I always get one when I start having sinus problems and it always helps. One of my friends swears by reflexology in the feet. I would try googling it and see what you can find out!

  • I think you're extremely lucky! What did you eat all day? I had a prenatal massage about two weeks ago, it was amazing and I fell asleep, but my heartburn stayed the same sadly.
  • Ooooh I want a prenatal massage so bad!!! Maybe it will help my heartburn too lol.

  • Lucky you! I have no idea if they are related but massage can trigger all sorts of things in your body. Example: your ankles are connected to your ovaries, which is why a prenatal massage should never involve massaging your ankles. Maybe your therapist was working the "no more heartburn" reflex :-)

I think you're probably right, just a lucky day. Hey, I'll take it!

I get a massage once a month and sadly I haven't noticed any difference in heartburn. I'm actually up right now thanks to heartburn.

  • I think it is possible if your heartburn was being caused by poor baby positioning or tightness/muscle imbalance that was constricting your posture.

That's an interesting possibility... The baby did move around quite a bit during and after the massage, maybe he's a little lower now?
