That's a great moral standing... When somebody does harm to themselves it's not hard to say "let them deal with the consequences" if they choose to do so. When they harm somebody else? There is no reason for that and it should not be tolerated by society. According to your logic if a person should witness a crime they should do nothing. After all regardless of the harm done karma will come for them right?
