I have no problem with sleep training, given that the child is old enough and the parents follow a method appropriately.
We sleep trained DS and it was a life changer. Not only did he start STTN, but he was a much happier baby because he wasn't so tired. DS was a sleep fighter and constantly overtired, so teaching him how to go to sleep and stay asleep was huge. It worked wonders for nap time as well.
Mine is that I cannot stand a male over 7 to where a thong flip flop. I know it's common and I'm sure you all know or have a man who wears them. I don't know what it is about them, I just can't stand it! It just looks weird. It's has bothered me from the time I was little. Luckily for me my F prefers the slip on Nike sandals.

I agree, but how did you get him to do it?

I still have two weeks to go and even though this is an UO even to myself pass me the pitocin please!! I would be more than ok to induce if they offered it me which they won't until I'm 41 weeks.

Mine is kind of the reverse of this. I hate it when parents put their kids in flip flops. I'm talking about toddlers primarily. They are junky pieces of crap shoes and don't offer any kind of support or protection. When I taught preschool I couldn't believe how many parents would send their kids to school in them. They were always causing injuries on the playground. I get that they are easy to throw on, but even Crocs would be better and more supportive/protective.

That's true also. I was thinking more of the fact they are good for LO if they have the little strap in the back for like the beach or something to that effect.
Not for everyday walking around, or like you said school.

I was the biggest advocate of med free birth. Mainly because when my sister got an epidural she was helpless and couldn't do anything. My UO is that epidurals are freaking amazing!! I was still able to squat and use my legs and still felt the urge to push. Yep, I now love epidurals.

We followed the Ferber method. It is not cry it out, but a progressive wait method. There is a lot of negative associations with it, but that comes from misinformation. It worked in 2 days for STTN, but did take a little longer for naps.

The Ferber method was a God send with DD. Our peditrician was the one who actually suggested it and it worked wonders.

Add me to the Ferber is a genius group. Completely changed our lives in 2 days. It broke DD1 of the swaddle, bouncing to sleep, and the paci all at once and she STTN from then on to boot.

I have no problem w/ sleep training, but I seriously side-eye anyone who is willing to let their baby CIO for extended periods of time.

Agreed. That is part of the problem though. You say sleep training and most people think you just mean CIO forever in their crib until they fall asleep. (Not saying that is what you think) Or people that do it before about 5 months of age. That is ridiculous.

I am okay with guys wearing flip flops as long as their feet aren't hideous. I hate when guys have disgusting looking feet.
I am not a fan of a safari nursery theme either but our nursery theme is chevron.
I agree-Diet Pepsi is better. I am not a huge soda drinker to start but since I became pregnant, if I drink any soda at all, I drink regular soda and have to say that regular Coke is better than regular Pepsi.
I don't mind safari nurseries at all and usually think they are cute. I just hate that they all have monkeys in them. I am so over the monkey trend and hate that it is on everything. I know mine comes from the fact that I know a few people who have called their kid monkey at all times (even in professional situations) and buy everything with a monkey on it. Anything our baby has with a monkey was bought for us.
I can't even bring myself to be nice anymore on most posts, so I just don't post. June needs to hurry up so this board hopefully goes back to normal.

Ferber does not advocate CIO. It is a progressive wait method in which the time is increased between the child crying and the parent going in, but it is never an extended period of time.
I was a hardcore Diet Coke drinker before I got pregnant, and when I got pregnant I started drinking Diet Pepsi. I have to say that it was the best decision I've ever made. I was never really picky but just prefered Diet Coke. But now it's the other way around.

Here here! I find them rather vain!

Ugh - especially the ones that don't even have lenses!!
LOL they're hideous
Yes!! I never understood what was so appealing.

Ha, yeah, I know a lot of people like it. It's just not my thing
What?!?! But it's sooooo cute!!
Completely agree!
Oh yes definitely!
False. Diet Coke is far superior to Diet Pepsi.

Diet pop is disgusting.
That is so weird how your computer auto-switched Coke with Pepsi. Silly computer. I would get that fixed if I were you.
Fountain coke FTW!
LOL!
Mmmmmm, aspartame!!!

Agreed. Root beer or Dr. Pepper (regular) are the only kind of pop that are tolerable.

I have two tattoos.
I am just all over the UO today!

No way. Diet Coke is my favorite thing in the world. You're both f'ed in the head. :-)
Yep.
