Trying to Get Pregnant

Still in shock! bfp!

Wow, I'm still in shock. This morning (11 DPO) I POAS'd and saw a faint test line, but wasn't sure if it was still valid b/c I only saw it after 10 mins and the test had been sitting out for a while. Was going to wait til tomorrow morning to POAS again, but by noon it was driving me crazy so I went home and took two tests (wonfdo and a store brand test). This time around I sat in the bathroom with a watch. Definitely saw a very very faint line on both tests and I couldn't believe it! I honestly thought that my mind was playing tricks on me. Wasn't until DH told me he could see them too that I actually believed it. I'm prob still going to POAS a hundred more times before I start telling our immediate family.

Unfortunately telling DH wasn't the way I had planned. I had this whole thing planned out where I was going to give him a book for expectant fathers and let him figure it out, but obviously I didn't make it that far.

Hopefully everything turns out okay. I'm trying not to get too excited. But anyway, wanted to thank you guys out there. I've learned so much by being here and I'm so glad that we have message boards like this for support. Wishing you all the best in this crazy journey.

Why can't she just call it a crazy journey without people dissecting it and making it more than it is? Who knows what she did to gear up to TTC and what her feelings were while TTC, if she wants to call the journey crazy who the eff cares? She did not say anything about the length of trying or frustrations over trying for x amount of time, she just called the journey crazy, chill! Lots and lots of people get pregnant their first cycle, no shame in that! OP congratulations! I hope you have a happy, healthy & uneventful 9 months!

It is not a competition though how long someone has been trying, right? My husband and I just made a huge career change and now officially own our own business. We have been at it for about 2 months and it has been crazy, are we not entitled to say and think that because other business owners have been at it a lot longer and it gets a lot more crazy? Her perception is it has been a crazy journey, she got lucky the first month and therefore does not have anything else to compare it to. Let the girl call it what she wants to call it. Those that have been trying for longer may know how much crazier it can get, fortunately for her she gets to call it crazy only one month in, no reason to fault her for that.

1 month does not equal a "journey." It's funny to call trying to conceive a journey when you have immediate success.

If you ordered pizza would you refer to your walk to the front door as a journey? Only is you were being a jerk, right?

ETA- OP- I wish you a healthy 9 months.

Are you pissed off that it took her one month? Get over it!
  • imagejefa621:
She said "Wishing you all the best in this crazy journey"  Why would she wish US luck if she was talking about HER journey?  Oh.  She was wishing us luck on our journeys.
Too much jealousy on this board! Get over it biiatchez!

Seriously? Now she is being a jerk for wishing people good luck? Some of you make it impossible to please. What a biitch the OP is for wishing people good luck and referring to TTC as a crazy journey, the nerve of some people! Can a mom of a 1 week old say it has been a crazy journey? Or only a mom of a 5 year old? How do you qualify what is the appropriate amount of time for anyone to refer to something as a journey? Do you take everything in life so seriously? I can't imagine a life where something as innocent as good luck on this crazy journey is turned into something negative. It is right up there with GM taking a comment of you must not have a close sister and turning it into an insult of eat shiit you worthless biitch.

  • Thank you all for the well wishes.

For anyone that may have been offended by my post, that was not my intention at all. Maybe I chose the wrong words? I genuinely hope that things work out for all of you ladies. Even though my time here was short, I have read many of your posts about how the ups and downs of ttc. Maybe I can't relate to what you're going through in ttc, but I can relate to being frustrated, disappointed, anxious and needing support. God knows I've had my fair share of all of those in my life. So anyway, I just want to wish you all the best.

    This board is for entertainment.

I don't care what anyone on here says about me and I don't think other people should be too upset when others call them out.

When I referred to  being a jerk it was more along the Steve Martin version of "The Jerk"- hence the "journey" to the front door to get pizza example.
