Sorry for the weird formatting. I XPed this from another group.
I
need some advice from Moms/Aunts/Experts. We are in the middle of what I
am assuming is the dreaded 18 month sleep regressions.
For
the past 2 weeks, G has been extra whiny, fussy, clingy and this week,
he has been waking up every night, screaming like a banshee until one of
us goes in and gets him.
We're taking turns spending the 2nd
half of the night on the couch with G. He will NOT go back in his crib,
even if he is sound asleep he wakes up the moment we try to put him back
in.
I know he is working on some teeth because he is
constantly chewing on things, running a low grade temp and just extra
irritable in general.
So I guess I am wondering A. Is this
normal? B. For those who have been through it or have a sister who went
through this, how long does it last? And C. Is there anything we can do
besides wait it out?
I am so tired...
Re: Sleep Regression Experts, Come In!
I could have written this myself. DS is 18 months old, and almost every night he wakes up around 2:30 and will NOT go back to sleep by himself. He's getting his eye teeth right now, and I heard this was very painful. He's also pretty
Thanks for commiserating!
Hmm...I'm wondering if he's having night mares.
1. Make sure his room is cool enough. I've heard from others and swear it's true from my own DD's experience, that too warm a room can make them worse. Ideal temp should be around 70-72.
