What does the belly button look like after the cord falls off?

Since DD's cord fell off a couple days ago her belly button sort of sticks out a bit. Pretty much just like it was with the cord there, only it's not there anymore. And it gets a bit crusty too. What did your baby's look like post cord fall off and how long til it looked more like a regular belly button?? Obviously I can't remember and of this from DS 2 years ago lol

That's what DS looked like afterwards and still looks like he's 4 weeks now. We asked his pedi and he said it could take another month or so to look 'normal' and to just clean out the Crusty stuff with soap or some rubbing alcohol.

What color is the crusty stuff..my LO had slight infection dr treated..it dried up but is green crusty..does the crusty go away on its own and I just gently clean it?

My DS's crusty was like a brownish color and the pedi just scrubbed it out with the alcohol pad and told us not to be afraid of cleaning it out lol.

This sounds exactly what we went through with DD's cord. When DS's cord fell off everything was healed up. When DD's fell off it's like it wasn't completely healed. It would get crusty and it poked out. We just kept it clean and ma
