After a long a battle trying to find name for our daughter that was both Arabic (DH's request) and not overly foreign sounding (my request) I think we have settled on Nora. It isn't my typical style, but I have always loved this name and it's the only one we can agree on.
My only concern with it is I worry it has become quite popular. It seems to fall into the same category as Emma, Ava, Ella, etc. and I know those have all become super-popular.
So, my question is, how many of you are using this name yourselves or know kids born in the last 5ish years with this name? If it matters, I live in the southeast.
Thanks!
Re: How many Nora's do you know IRL?
I don't know any Noras
You can use https://www.babynamewizard.com/name-mapper to search by region and year for popularity.
My daughter (4) is the only Nora(h) I knew until Monday at the mall- I met a baby named Nora (about 10mo). I don't think its that popular.
Look on Name Nerds too. It condenses the spellings of names into one rank so you can see
SAHM to 4 kiddos... K (5/05), N (4/09), C (11/10) and Baby A 1/13/14
One of my BFFs is Nora...but she is definitely not under 5. I don't know any little girls named Nora.

I know one Nora, and she's a high school student.
But I know it's a relatively common name. It might have skipped our region. (I live on the Georgia coast, FYI.)
