Friday night I'm driving to CT, where I will spend the night, by myself, in a hotel before heading to my friend's bridal shower the following morning. This should feel like a dream come true, right?
H will be here with DD, and my mom will watch her during the day on Saturday while he works, and I'm just feeling panicky about it.
I contemplated leaving early in the am, and doing the 9+ hour round trip in a day, but H shot that down.
So those of you have done it, is he first night miserable, or will the quiet, and the fluffy down comforter make it all okay?
Re: Have you spent the night away from LO yet?
Not yet with this one.
With our older one I went away when she was 4ish months and then again when she was 2 (h was home with her though). We've only ever left her overnight together 1 night.
I was fine. I've done it once and will be again in two weeks. I'm only slightly looking forward to it. I'll miss her but I'm more worried that she'll ruin future outings by being a crank to the ILs.

I went about 45 minutes away to the Sundance Film Festival in February and left DH alone with both kids overnight. They all three did great! It wasn't too hard, but I've also done it a couple times with Kenleigh so I knew what to prepare for. I did fin
I've only had one night away from DD1 when she was 21 months and DH was home with her. We don't really have anything ever come up where we need to be away from them overnight. Plus all of our family, who I would trust the most watching the

I haven't left E overnight yet. He doesn't really sleep yet, so I'd feel so guilty leaving him with someone to listen to him scream. Plus, he nurses at night still, and he doesn't really take a bottle.
Maybe once he is better at sleeping I'

We left DS2 for the first time in mid Feb to take DS1 to an indoor water park. It was hard, but once we were out and about, I was ok. I just got back from a 4 night stay in Vegas. I missed my kids, but man, I really needed the vacatio
Doesn't mean I wouldn't though. It never happened that way. Plus I know I would be a wreck. All i want is being alone and sleep. And I know
I have not with DS2 but I did with DS1 when he was 10 months old. We stayed at a hotel for a wedding. And then of course when I delivered DS2. 1 night he was with my mom, the others with DH at night and grandparents during the day.
I will say we
I literally went from spending every second with LO while on maternity leave to having my dad die the exact day I returned to work for the first time. I spent almost a week away from Reid (and all my kids) straight and it made the whole nightmare

I have twice is that bad? Once when he was 8 weeks old and the other 2 weeks ago when he was 6 months. Both times my parents watched him. The first time DH and I were out of town the other time we had a date night and DS stayed at their house. I will t
Didn't read all the responses, but hope to just give you some extra reassurance...we left DD when she was 6 weeks old w/ grandma for a WEEK!!! It was against my wishes, but there were extenuating circumstances. We took DS with us, but had l
