suggest snacks for keeping nausea at bay

I'm feeling sicker than I did with my last pregnancy, though knock on wood no puking yet. Snacking seems to help a bit, though can be tough as a teacher. Any recs on good snacky foods to help? Carbs and peanut butter have seemed helpful. I've kept pretzels at my desk, though they then make me thirsty! What's your best goto 1st tri snack?

  • Right now: pickles, tortilla chips, goldfish crackers and sour patch kids or sour keys.  (not all at once though) :)  Or a banana.

  • I've heard celery can help with nausea and heartburn. Might be a little disruptive to your class though lol
  • Pretzels seem to help me. Also pistachios or cashews. Tums. Haha
  • I bought some little 100 cal packs of nuts this weekend. That has been very helpful to me cause it's easy to throw in my purse and go. Easy to store in my desk and pull out as needed.

  • What about a smoothie in the mornings.  That way you can sip during class and not have to chew anything.

You could make a peanut butter and banana smoothie, or get protein powder to add to a fruit smoothie.

  • I have pretzels and pickles to snack on.  But I've also been sucking on Jolly Ranchers (except the Grape flavor, Yuck).  Sipping on Sprite also seems to help me as well.

And ladies for those headaches (which for me seem to come

I recommend all bran bars as they are packed with b6 and folate. They seem to help with the sicky feelings and come in different flavours like honey oat, choc chip, and apple cinnamon
  • Jolly Ranchers! Something about sucking on a sour candy helps. Bananas also help...and ICE cold water.  I am also taking 1/2 B6 and 1/2 Unisom 2X a day, seems to be working since I'm only slightly nauseous now. GL
