What's expected manufacture date on new car seat?

I just opened a chicco keyfit 30 carseat and the manufacture date is August 2011. So, it expires aug 2017. I was expecting a manufacture date in 2012. Does this really matter? This will be our second child and were not sure if he will be the last or if we may have one more later. What would you do? The store I bought from is a good 30 minute drive.

    google the model number see if it meets safety standards. You're in the states I assume, right? I'm in canada, and they just changed everything here.

    This is normal if you got a really good deal on it. Sometimes, on albeebaby.com, diapers.com of even regular stores if there is a really good sale they are clearing out older items.

    Totally safe to use until Aug '17 but I get that you might want
