  Areola should not be in the straight tube part of the flange. Only nipple. If it is like you said, the LC should have told you to go down a size on that side.

  I've been through a lot of this... Did she measure your nipple? Does pumping hurt?
  
  I read if your nipple is the size of a nickel or quarter you need to size up.. This gave me a vivid mental picture because mine are the size of frozen peas..

  Agree the pumpin pals did not work for
  Me but they are worth a shot.. Also I started with the lansinoh which pumps similar to the Ameda and it was a big fail it's why I now have the medela... Just FYI

  Butting in to ask where are y'all getting the Ameda stimulators? I looked for them on Amazon and Ameda's site and didn't see them... that, or I don't actually know what I'm looking for...

  Make sure you keep the suction LOW.. like go until you just feel a tug and then dial down a titch.. I was using super high suction and that was making things worse.. but yeah.. for me and my flat small nipples I needed the medela - it really made a huge d

  I'm lucky enough that the pump room at my job provides a Medella lactina so ill be able to use that at work...
