Just wanted to post that I got a fitbit and I LOVE it! It tracks walking, logged workouts, and going upstairs. It's like a pedometer, but better! Plus it has an app for smartphones. I just wanted to share in case you may like something like that. I ended up getting the fitbit one model.

I haven't been wearing it when I sleep cause I think it would bother me. However, I do keep it on my nightstand and turn the sleep mode on/off when I go to bed and wake up. I do this because the dashboard metrics then take sleep out of the activity equation. Otherwise I look super lazy from 12am - 4am at the start of a new day. So turning sleep mode on/off means my day starts when I wake up.

That is crappy! Mine hasn't had those issues (*knock on wood*). I check it after I do a flight of stairs just to see if it is accurate and so far it's working properly.
