Has anyone ever gone to a
chiropractor to help induce labor? Have you had any success with it? I went to
my regular appointment today and jokingly said, ?Hey, if there?s anything you
can do to jump start this labor that would be great!? My chiro said, ?okay? and
off he went doing a couple of different adjustments.
Re: Chiropractor to Induce Labor?
My little man at 0-1-2
I had that too, with my first. He (a webster chiro) did an adjustment that he doesn't do unless you're 38w. He pressed more firmly on one of my uterine ligaments. I felt really crappy the rest of the day and sore, and at 6am the next day, my water broke. I was 38w3d, but I think I might have been a week farther along that whole pregnancy, so 39ish.
I don't think it'll do a thing unless your body is ready, just like other natural methods. I'd certainly pursue this again though if I was facing induction otherwise. I go to the chiro regularly in pregnancy anyway to help with pelvic pain.
Bummer! You can at least take comfort in the fact that getting that chiropractic care will likely help you to labor more efficiently since your pelvis is lined up well!
