We are planning to try some meats with LO in the next month. Right now she eats purees of fruit or veggies or cereal. We aren't doing BLW. She's had puffs (eats those fine), bananas mashed up (refused to eat it, but will eat banana puree), and a green bean (wouldn't eat it, but eats green beans as a puree). I am not going to give her babyfood meat because it just is not appealing. How do you make meat for your LO and how do you serve it (puree, etc).

Re: Meat
I was nervous to introduce meats as well. Not the most appealing thing when its completely plain. I live in ontario and here peds are highly pushing meats before fruits and veggies so we had to puree because he was not ready for anything else.
I ended up only giving tiny bits before veggies though because he hated it. It was much easier mixed with the veggies. I have had success making very smooth purees though. The key is having the meat cold before you puree it. You can coo your meat however you want (chicken, beef, pork etc). Just put it in the fridge so its cold. Then blend the meat until it makes almost a powdery look. Then add a bit of water (about 1/4 cup to 1 cup of meat) and blend.
It ends up smooth but still not great (i mean it is plain meat). I add a bit of steamed sweet potato (just a small 1/2 inch chunk) for a bit of flavour and moisture and my son takes it very well.
Our DS is eating puffs and cheerios now so he can take small very soft pieces of meat that way too, but you might get some gagging at first because the taste of meat is pretty shocking to them.
good luck!
