My biggest concerns right now are my wife delivering safely and being ok. I obviously want a healthy baby as well but I guess my fears are mostly oriented towards delivery at this point. I am sure after he is born I will begin processing new and exciting fears
Nothing can prepare you for delivery, each one is just so different. All I can say is that once things get going, your instincts will kick in more than you ever thought they would. It seems that the three of us were in tune once it got close to Jake being here, and it just seemed without stress and very peaceful once my wife started pushing.
Hey guys my name's Joel. Im 27 and we just found out my fiance and I are having our first baby. She's about 67 weeks along right now and it's definitely a new experience. We are getting married in August and the baby is due midoctober lol. I live in Alberta, Canada but originally from B.C. so I'm a huuuuuge Vancouver Canucks fan. My baby is gonna hate me for all the Canucks clothes he/she will have! Generally I don't have a lot of fears when it comes to this pregnancy because I can't WAIT to have our little onr, except MC has been one of the fears weighing on my mind lately. I seem to be thinking a lot more fatherly already weird so early? And protective of both my fiance and the baby. Im just excited that I have the opportunity to become a dad because I think that is one of the greatest accomplishments you can have as a man. Glad there's forums here to read about other new dads and their thoughts/fears!
I'm Chris, 31 yrs old. I live in Maine, and work on the water.
My wife is just 5 weeks into our 2nd pregnancy. First ended in a miscarriage which sucked like nothing else.
I play guitar and sing, and love music. Really enjoy building furniture for our new house in my workshop while cranking tunes way too loud.
I am pulling for a boy! Really want to regress back to slot cars and playing catch!
Not fearful of labor / birth, I grew up on a farm and have seen enough births to know they're not for the faint of heart.
I am fearful of not making it through the first trimester again. Positive attitude and loving care aside I am shitting my pants and probably need my own diapers! Another miscarriage would be horrendous. We went through 2 years of infertility drugs / IUI's and hormones. Took a break from it and got pregnant naturally which ROCKS. Now lets just keep it this time shall we?
Classical guitar, cooking, reading about science (NASA.gov is my homeboy)

She's a girl
I fear her teen years : D but seriously I do have concerns about being a stay at home dad in an area with few others. It's all good though.
I lived in St. Louis for a couple of years in my young, single days. I fell in love with the Blues there, and have never looked back. I lived there through the Shanahan-Pronger trade, and I remember thinking that Mike Keenan may not survive the season when I saw a billboard flaming him up shortly after the trade.
Hey all, new guy here. The wife of 5 years is 12 weeks pregnant with our first. She has been using these forums a lot for information for the past 5-6 weeks since we found out that my sperm works. She has found some good stuff so I figured I would give it a look.
As for me...I'm in the Army and stationed overseas. I am a huge Bucs fan and sports fan in general. I have been accused a few times of spending way too much time on Streak for the Cash trying to win.
Anyway, it hasn't been easy so far. It seems like she has been naseaus since the second she found out she was pregnant. Most days she throws up more then she eats, but has been getting somewhat better in the last week.
We got our first ultrasound two days ago and so far so good. I plan on posting more and wish I had looked this up sooner because I have been sworn to secrecy until the end of the 1st trimester which is when we plan on telling people.
I fear having a girl, not really sure what to do with them. A smaller worry is how our dog will react to not getting the attention he's used too. I'm not as worried about sleep as the wife is, but that might change.
Oh and not worried about poop because anyone who watches It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia knows 'poop is funny'

Welcome! The morning/afternoon/evening/night sickness will hopefully pass soon.
I had the same feeling about having a girl. Thankfully I get to wait on finding out how to deal with them. We are expecting our first boy in a month.
