leaking amniotic fluid or just pee

The last 24 hours I changed clothes twice b/c i felt like i peed my pants and I feel wet all the time.  Anyone experiece the leaking and what was it like??   I want to call dr but I'm home alone all day with DS who has pnenonia and can't drag him out b/c if I call I'm guessing they will tell me to come in. Any advise will help me feel better!

    You never really know unless they check you BUT I thought this was happening to me and got checked and my doc told me it's REALLY RARE for it to be your water. Like 1 in 250 rare. The way I see it is that if it IS your water, you can just wait until you can get it checked or you'll start having contractions then you'll know.

    You can do an at home test. Lay down for 20-30 minutes and the fluid should pool up in your vagina. Then when you stand out if you experience another gush then it might be your water breaking. If it does not then it might not be. My doctor just told me about this because yesterday I had a gush of fluid come out, turns out my water did not break.

    Can you smell it? Urine smells different then amniotic fluid.

    I had the same thing happen to me this morning twice.  When I went to my birthing class they brought this same situation up.  They suggested trying to go to the bathroom and emptying your bladder completely.  Then go lay down for 20 to 30 minutes.  If you stand up and it happens again you might have had your water break and you should call, they said that sometimes the head can be so low that it is blocking all the fluid from gushing out at once.  If it doesn't happen again then it might have been just pee.  Trust me I think we have all been there at this point  :-)
