Do you know anyone by this name? What stereotype do you think about when you hear this name?
This is my husband's number one pick (spelled Tidus). At first I never heard of the name and thought he was nuts, but I'm starting to hear it here and there. It was a small character on Glee last week too.
What do you think about this name in general? Yay or nay?
Re: Tidus or Titus?
Titus is the correct spelling of the name.
I am not a fan.

DH's cousin named her boy Tytus and I hate it. It is a BIG name for such a little boy (and he is small for his age). I'm afraid he'll get teased real bad for it.

Titus. Never Tidus.
I do know two and they are both nice guys - sort of your "best all around" type if that makes sense?
I'm not crazy about the name but I don't have any negative associations with it either.
Tidus looks...odd. If you use it go with Titus.
I think of Titus Pullo.
I don't mind Titus.
Tidus is really bad. There may be some fictional characters with this name, but it just makes you look like you can't spell.

I like the name but I immediately think of Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus...seriously negative connotations...the play ends with Titus being fed his kids in a pie, among other really nasty parts

I like it too but spelled Titus. Tidus is atrocious and someone needs to thwack your DH for even suggesting it. It is a Roman name, so while I am aware of the biblical associations I do not think of it as a name with religious overtones at all.
I know a Titus. NMS but it's a nice enough name.
I don't know what a Tidus is.
LMAO. Yeah, not a fan here either.

I love Titus and I'm surprised that the board seems not to like it. I can't say anything bad about a Biblical name. (Tidus is bad.)

Tidus = Atrocious.
Titus = Big name, but not bad.
Tidus - absolutelt awful and totally made up looking
Titus - definitely a dog's name, but the lesser of 2 evils
I feel the same way. I really like Titus. NO to the misspelled Tidus.
Tidus was the main character of Final Fantasy X, and he had a seriously annoying laugh. I am side-eyeing your husband.
To me, they both seem like good hermit crab names. Not so much a fan for children.

A laundry detergent? That's my first thought.
Titus isn't terrible, but it's a lot of name to carry around.

Another vote for this.
Titus is one of my favorite names. But I LOVE ancient Roman names.
Tidus is just bad.
My first son is named Tidus. It is of Japanese origin. An Okinawan word meaning "sun". Okinawa is an absolutely gorgeous Japanese island where I lived for 4 years and my son was conceived there.
Just wanted to let people know. Just because you think it looks made up doesn't necessarily mean it is.
