I have bought a crib, dresser, and changing table from them when I had DD. I love it. It is soild wood and has held up nice. The decorative trim came off one side of the crib but we just glued it back with some wood glue and clamps. On the changing table my jeans or belt rubbed some of the color off the trim but we just touched up with a furniture pen. Just minor things...I still love it and would buy from them again. We just had it shipped to the store and picked it up there. It was around 4-8 weeks I think, dont remember right off but it wasnt long. Hope this helps.
Boo. We just bought the Savanna Tori set from there a couple of weeks ago. Oh well! We also have the Monterey for our oldest. I like our sets so far. The price can't really be beat. I think the quality is good, and they have good ratings. I mean not all of the pieces are all wood, but if so, that would sure cost a lot more! My friend thinks hers is cheaply made. But I'm a fan.
Well we ordered our set from them, but unfortunately I'm no help because it was backordered until march, so we haven't received it yet. So if you do decide to buy, I'd do it sooner rather than later!
We bought the Rockland Heartford set from them. I really like the design, but wish we gotten one of the more expensive sets. I've heard good things about JCP's quality, but ours is going to scratch really easy. It also came with a couple of small imperfections that I didn't notice until DH had the set assembled. They knocked of a pretty significant amount for them, and since DH wasn't willing to reassemble, I can deal. I absolutely recommend calling if you have an issue of any kind - their customer service was great.

The crib I found at a resale shop for $179, perfect condition about 3 years ago.
The dresser I ordered for JCP this year for $508, with truck delivery included. I ordered it in Cherry....and my crib is Espresso. Customer service was very good about picking up one and delivering the other. But I had to purchase the second one before they would ship it, So, I was out $1000.
It took them 4 months to refund my money. The accidently refunded both dressers. So, I called them and they can't find their mistake....and so, I'm holding on to the extra money, b/c they will eventually figure out what happened.
We got this set just this week (my mom ordered it for us on Black Friday - just got it last Friday). Looks gorgeous. Had a couple knicks in it here and there, but those are easily covered up with a little cover up paint.
I bought JC PEnny furniture for my neice when she was born 2 years ago and the quality is absolutely fantastic. I wanted the same exact set for my own daughter due in May but my mother bought us Bellini instead because she didnt want us to have the same furniture. Beautiful quality, you really can't go wrong with JCPenny-- they are of the same manufacturers of Pottery Barn, and i think their stuff is of great quality as well.
We bought our crib there 4 years ago and it's held up well. Would definitely do it again if we needed to.
Just an FYI, where we lived we had to have it delivered. I had ordered a dresser with it. The dresser had been damaged in shipping. They use a shipping company (not UPS/FedEx), so make sure you do a quick inspection before you sign for it! They took it back and I got a full refund.
