my DH is a Mental Health Technician. we actually met at work and then he transferred to a different psych unit so we could be (openly) together
He only works 3 days a week, and it's the evening shift (3p-1130p). it's great because he will be home to take care of the baby more than i will be able to.
My DH is an oil operator and works 7 12s and then 7 off. In the past he's had a lot of OT but his company is cutting back on it so he will probably be home more. It works well for us since I teach part time two or three days a week and then he's home with DS on the days I'm working. Some days it's hard being by myself all day or when I have to get get DS ready in the am when I go to work. But I recently joined a moms group, Stroller Strides, where I take DS and we workout and then the kids play at the park afterwards. It definitely breaks up the day.
DH is a commercial and residential realtor/broker. One nice thing is that we get to go through a lot of peoples houses. Downfall is that one of these days he will probably come home and say that he sold our house that is not for sale.
My DH is a Deputy and works bravo shift so 1245915 and while its hard with 2 it's nice that he's at home when they wake up! I try to get most everything done in the mornings before he leaves so I can just play with the boys.
He's a chiropractor. Pretty normal schedule, thankfully. We do have pretty frequent late evening or even late weekend evening appointments...which bug sometimes. Weekend marketing or events aren't too frequent, so that's nice too.
He is a restaurant manager of 2 family owned restaurants and is working on a 3rd. He works all the time. He gets 2 nights off a week, and it varies week to week. I work first shift and off weekends. Weekends are busiest for him. So we have opposite schedules so we'll both feel like single parents, haha.
DH works as a supervisor at a bank. He mostly has a normal 9-6 job, occasionally will have to work a Saturday. I work 12hr nights, so when I have my three days on, we usually don't see each other at all (I leave for work about 10 min before he gets home, and vice versa).
After 8 years in the Coast Guard my husband got out to help run the family Chimney Sweep Business. : Very sooty. I'm an RN working 7p7a desperately holding out for a day shift so we might get to spend a little more time together.
My Dh works nights at Walmart. Since, he is unable to make manager at his store (its extremely small) he is transferring to Sam's. I am praying he gets a Lead position there (step down from manager). As of right now we are assuming that I will work day shifts and he will work night shifts. That means baby will hopefully not have to go to daycare right off the bat.
My DH is self-employed and owns a junk hauling/removal business. He pretty much works when he wants since he had employees that work for him. He works both at home and at his office. It is nice to have him have such flexible work hours. It helped us out the other week when DS DCP closed due to the flu and DH stayed home all week to take care of him so I wouldn't have to use any PTO days.

My DH is a firefighter/medic as well. Some weeks, he works as much as 90 hours a week. I'm definitely worried about maternity leave, especially with his 24 hour shifts and overnight shifts. Thankfully, when he is home, he is the most loving, supportive, and caring husband ever!
