FFFC

FFFC

I'll start.  Class started on the 7th so I had to take Stella to daycare.  I didn't cry.

  • I've never 'enjoyed a glass of wine'. When people tell me 'I drank a a glass of wine last night while watching tv', I think, that's stupid. I would never waste calories on drinking like that. I would rather eat chocolate chip cookies.

  • I don't buckle Ethan to the rnp at night... He sleeps literally right next to me and I'm such a light sleeper that I react as soon as he peeps, and the few times I did buckle him, he screamed.

My confession is pretty flameful but I'm hoping to not be kicked off the board.... My LO has slept on her tummy since day 1, we tried everything to get her to sleep in her back and she wouldn't sleep. On her tummy she sleeps waaayyy better. Am I still allowed to play here? LMK

Kaley sleeps on her belly. Always has. You're good.

Pretty sure that there are quite a few moms here who have their LOs sleep on their tummies? gotta do what works best as long as your pediatrician knows about it!

  • I am bedsharing right this very second! Also, when Alice sleeps in her PnP, I do usually cover her to her belly button with a handmade crochet blanket. Its effing cold here.

I find it amusing what is considered flameful here.

  • I accidentally stole makeup from target on Tuesday. A 10 dollar eye brighter was wedged under DD carseat. And I noticed when I was putting her back in the car. She was having a giant meltdown so I couldn't go back in and return it. It's still in my car. I feel like a felon, I'll probably take it back.

Nuthin.nbsp; She sleeps when she's sleepy, eats when she's hungry, and she is gaining weight like a champ. I feel all awkward when everyone knows exactly how much their kid sleeps or eats and I don't. I've done this with both my kids. Hell, half the time I don't even remember what time he BF last. I can tell the difference in his cries for hunger vs tired. I couldn't tell with D, so he ate a lot more. I was a FTM and if he cried, we put a bottle in his mouth, he also wouldn't take a paci.

Guilty as well!  The yellow part that the membrane clicks into (at least on a medela pump), I didn't realize it separated from the rest of the valve.  Bump saves the day.

  • DH and I were discussing preschool for DS1 last night when he got home from work. When he told me to put him in the 5-day program so that I can work, I told him it's only from 9-1 and it's not really enough time for a PT job. He then went on to lecture me about developing some kind of skill instead of "sitting on my ass." Then the questions started- "Have you learned to sew?"  "How's the knitting coming?"  "Have you studied any chinese lately?"  "How's the professional development?" He was doing this to be an a$$. Then he asked me about my bump post count. "Up to 7000 posts yet? Because that's a really useful skill. Think of how much time you've wasted posting instead of developing a real skill."

DH, have you noticed I've been a zombie for the past few weeks since DS2 isn't sleeping and I have insomnia??? You are an a$$hole for giving me sh!t like this when I'm trying to keep myself together and just get through an effing day without falling apart. Not like you actually come home before 9pm to help me out with anything. I'm trying to just stay afloat.

I went on to explain to him how I've literally not slept, and he "questions" that since I'm in bed from 9-7. Eff you DH, I'm not sleeping during that time! Just because I'm in bed doesn't mean I'm sleeping. The baby has been up SEVERAL times a night and I am not falling asleep afterwards. And usually he's up at 5am and I don't sleep after that.

Here comes my FFFC: DH tossed and turned a lot last night, barely got any sleep, and then said "I'm so tired. Didn't sleep. I guess that's karma, huh?"

You bet your a$$ it is. I don't feel sorry for him at all since he sleeps like a rock most days while I'm up all night. He can get through the day feeling like he didn't sleep and then tell me how productive he was.

  • All 3 of mine have been tummy sleepers and I'll tell you why. When my first was less than a day old, he was swaddled up tight in the basinet a few feet from my hospital bed where I was recovering from 17 hours of labor followed by a c-section. It was in the very early hours of the morning and my mom was asleep on the couch in the room. DS1 had serious reflux from the very beginning and began to spit up but couldn't get it out of his mouth and was choking. I couldn't get out of bed due to the 8000 cords and ivs and catheters and blood clot things on my legs and had to yell to wake my mom to get him up and empty out his mouth. It was so terrifying and I swore I would never lay my babies on the backs to sleep again. When my babies tummy sleep it's on a flat hard mattress with a tight fitting sheet and no blankets. There is no suffocation hazard. Even a tiny newborn will turn their face if they can't breathe. So, obviously, no flames from me!

Also, we co-sleep usually for the second half of the night. DS2 sleeps in his basinet until around 2/3am and then comes into bed to eat and snuggle until 6am. When we cosleep, he sleeps on his back.

I don't either, and E is sleeping in the RNP in his room right now since the crib started being disastrous once his reflux got worse. But I still wanted him out of our room, so we still swaddle him and he goes into the RNP at bedtime. Can't buckle it if he's swaddled!

I used to agree with you 100, but over the past couple years I've come to really enjoy a small glass here and there. Actually, it's not that I didn't enjoy it before, it's more that now I'm starting to think it's worth the calories sometimes.....I do tend to have it with my cookies though, not instead lol.

I just do both. Actually I do love wine and beer but sometimes a cup of coffee even if at night is more satisfying to me

This is me too. She has semi developed her own schedule but I feed her when she acts hungry and she sleeps when she wants to sleep throughout the day. I do put her down for the night around the same time

I find it is easier if you dunk them in hot soapy water first and wiggle back and forth a bit. After awhile they loosen up and you won't have the trouble you do at first.

  • I suppose my FFFC is I obsessively track Alice's food. I FF and I stress that I am over or under feeding her. Her bored cry and her hungry cry are very similar. If it's been 2 hours since she ate, I will try many different things before bottles. If it's been 4 hours, I go straight to a bottle. I suck at keeping track of time so if it wasnt on my app, I'd have no idea.

  • Mine is pretty bad, and NBR.

I am only friends with a girl I went to college with because I'm afraid if we "broke up" (lol) she might hurt herself.

She often tells me that I'm her only friend. And she's bi-polar and clinically depressed.

I'm dealing with my own PPD, I feel like I just can't handle her constant whining, stories of sleeping around and being a debbie downer anymore!

  • When DH gets home from work, he tells me ALL about his day. He's a reinsurance actuary...it's not that interesting. I try to listen, but I'm usually so relieved to have someone else to occupy DS1 that I don't want to have to think, and I end up bumping on my phone, pretending that I'm listening.
