We burn wood for heat so I have to carry in wood everyday. I'll try to take just a couple pieces at a time but across the yard and in the house it takes too long that way so I end up most mornings filling up my arms full and getting the job done. I'm wondering now that I am 30 weeks (tomorrow) if this is lifting heavy enough to cause labor? I certainly wouldn't want to do anything that could cause labor but I think the rule of thumb I've heard is maybe 30 pounds? I can't remember. Thoughts?

Re: how much weight is too much to pick up?
Give a call in to your OB to be sure. But mine always told me to do whatever I had been doing as long as I was still comfortable (physically) doing it.
I lifted heavy weights throughout my whole pregnancy.
But check with your OB and go with your gut.

That's the other thing- you can continue doing what you are comfortable w and used to during pregnancy, so if this is a regular thing w you then I am inclined to think it's ok. Just don't strain too much. I occasionally have to lift DS into his carseat. I am just careful and have him step on the side of the car and he kind of boosts himself up there too.
This. I still go to my weights class a couple times/week. I haven't added any weight while pregnant and have had to drop a little when we do back b/c of my belly but mostly I'm still doing the same.
