In my defense I don't know anyone who has kids (besides family)
A. Is preschool and daycare the same thing?
B. How much does Preschool cost? (I never knew it cost money)
C. How does daycare/preschool work?
E. If you are a WM do you get off early to pick up your kids?

DD is in a MMO/preschool program. Real preschool at her school doesn't start until she's 3.
A. No, not at DD's school. She goes 2 days a week for 4-5 hours per day.
B. Our 2 day a week program is $120/month. We're in a LCOL area though.
C. She goes to school, plays with her friends, colors, sings songs, learns a letter or number or something and comes home.
D. (where's D?)
E. No, she stays with my mom and MIL while I work and they drop her off and pick her up.
Preschool and daycare are not the same thing. However, most daycares I know do a preschool curriculum with children who are the appropriate age.
We pay $170/month for 2 1/2 days per week. The rates around here varied, this was the lowest I found. We're in a HCOL area.
Not sure of your third question.
Most working parents I know use the preschool room in a daycare because dedicated preschools generally don't have hours that accommodate a full time job. My daughter goes from 9-11:30 twice a week, not something that would be helpful for a working parent. They do offer extended days, but the longest day they offer is 8-2:30. Not sure what that costs, but I know it's quite a bit more than we're paying.
He's at a church preschool, so he goes to chapel once a week, they have music and art one day. They actually follow a curriculum, its more of a learning environment.
We pay 300 per month in a HCOL.
A. Is preschool and daycare the same thing? Perhaps. Daycare/Preschools are changing rapidly and now offer learning opportunities and may not just be 'care' based only. All ages in my kids daycare operates with a Reggio curriculum, including the Pre-K class. My toddler and preschoolers are in the same building, and are learning age-appropriate.
B. How much does Preschool cost? (I never knew it cost money). The same as daycare for us.
C. How does daycare/preschool work? For us the same, they operate during work hours, some parents send their children during school hours only. We pay the same as we did prior to Pre-K.
D. If you are a WM do you get off early to pick up your kids? No
Of course, visit daycares and preschools in your area before committing. However I would not discredit a daycare-as their Pre-K program can be equally strong but also meet working parent needs.
