  • Hahahaha. I never thought of it that way.

Oops, I meant to quote the Christmas lights thing.

  • I was whining to my husband on Christmas Eve that I felt fat and frumpy before we went to his parent's house for dinner. In an effort to make me feel better he pointed out that even though I'm still bigger than when we got married that I would be the thinnest woman there. I told him I hadn't even thought about it that way.

I totally lied, I had thought about it.

I want to be back in shape so that I can share clothes with my sisters and my Mom again. Yes, you read that right, my 52 year old Mom. My 18 year old sister helps her shop and somehow she dresses young without looking ridiculous.

  • I am so judgemental towards "lazy" parents. I mean I'm not saying I'm a rockstar mom or anything, but every time I see a baby with its bottle propped in Walmart, or listen to my friends who have LOs say I just insert lazy thing here.... because I work. I immediately slap the lazy parent label on in my head. I mean we all have lazy days sometime, but if you don't want to sacrifice things like sleep tv and partying you shouldn't have had children.

When Howell looks at me as though the sun has just risen, I just think I'll never live up to his impression of me. I want to say, just wait. You'll see how imperfect I am one day.

You are an amazing mom to Howell and no one is perfect, but you don't have to be a perfect person to be the perfect mom to your baby.

  • I had never met women as passionate about guns until I came to this board. I can't say that makes me feel safer.

I am not inviting my parents to Lila's baby naming in February. My mother will say that she would live to come but it's too expensive but then decline when I offer to pay or give FF points. My father is just a bigot and I don't want his antiSemitism and negativity casting a pall on a very joyous event.

I don't know how to say this without it sounding like a backhanded compliment, but I like you a LOT more now that I know how you feel about guns and other social issues. It's not that I didn't like you before, but you're way more serious than I am so I wasn't sure we'd get along. We totally would. I promise I'm a lot smarter than I seem when I'm just dicking around here making jokes about unicorns and Harry Potter. And I like your penguins.

My weird FFFC: I used to follow the blog Veronika's Blushing (yeah, stalked her from The Nest like everyone else), but now that she's pregnant I just can't. Why? Because she's going to dress SO MUCH BETTER than I did when I was pregnant and it's going to make me feel bad about myself. Which is ridiculous. I'm embarrassed for myself.

I will agree with you on that point. There are quite a few women here who are passionate about guns, but at the same time the issue has come up so there is an opportunity to voice the interest. I don't go around my daily life spouting gun safety tips or my political views, but one of the great things about forums is that it allows people with passions, interests or different views to come together and discuss those things. I wouldn't have learned nearly as much about the political election if I hadn't frequented these boards. It was actually your posts on Judaism that sent me out to do research on Hanukah, and I learned a lot of fascinating things. I think Internet forums give us all the opportunity to speak with people and learn things they otherwise wouldn't. I love that on this forum we are identified not only by our gorgeous babies, but also by our passions and interests! It makes for amazing learning opportunities and interesting conversation!

I just have to ask Bpaws... Are you EEJayde from CGN? I need to ask because you have knowledge on guns, the day I posted I was pregnant on the ladies section on CGN, EEJayde said she was due with an August baby too. She lives in BC, you live in BC. I am wondering if she is you or your long lost twin.

Becc, aren't you the one who came on here a few weeks ago saying that anyone who was struggling with parenthood must be an ignorant teen mom? You know, the confession about the lack of sleep posts where you nominated yourself for bestest mom ever1!!11 because you totally love your LO more than the rest of us? I can't be bothered to search for the link since I'm TOH on my phone while dd naps in my arms. HINT: that's why I have time to bump during the day. If all you do is come on FFFC and bash the board and some of the regs on here, why don't you GTFO? Since you're clearly so much better than the rest of us.

    Ah yes, here you go.

  • I have both DS and DD's newborn clothes put together to pass on to new owners, but I just can't seem to give them away yet. And DS is TWO.

I know they are just material things and I know a few people I can give them to soon. For some reason, I want to keep them. We don't know if we'll have more kids and if we do, it probably wouldn't be until the kids are much older.

I like this board as a resource when I have a question, or to read answers to others' questions. But I think it is a little too "high school". I mean, you really have no right to tell people to "GTFO" when this is a public forum. Create a private one if you want to select who you interact with. Also, some people on here post so much that it makes me question how much attention they pay to their babies. I am guilty of browsing the Bump when my daughter is napping, but I don't see how there is enough time in the day to be on here as much as some of you are and still live a life outside of the internet, especially with a baby to take care of.
If this board is too "high school" for you then go somewhere else. There are plenty of other places to find baby advice. You have no idea what people are doing when they're on a lot. My baby naps on my chest for an hour or so each time. There's not much else to do besides play with my phone, whether bumping or facebooking. Don't be so judgey. No one here has their kid alone, staring at a wall while they sit, drink, and bump.
aw crap.  Guess I'd better get Liam out of the corner and away from the wall and put my drink down.

My FFFC? I love when people on here so blatantly post something that will piss people off.  It makes for good reading.

My FFFC is that I treat my MIL a lot better now that I have Leo.  I never want Leo's wife/partner to treat me the way I treated MIL.  I wasn't nasty to her, I just never really tried.  We're two different people, but I try to look at the upside of things.

You are a better woman than me.  I think I have a shorter fuse with my MIL now than before Sammy came along.  Could be the PPA though....

[Add "creepy" to your list for telling someone they can die in a fire. That's just...weird. And offensive to those reading who may have lost loved ones in a fire.

I thought you were leaving?  Isn't this post taking away from time with your baby?  Tsk Tsk.

Becc, do you need a hug?

Go spend time with your baby and let our babies chew their lead paint chips in peace.

*Pearl clutch* I would NEVER let my child chew lead paint chips. I buy the good kind without the lead.

    Too good are you?

MoFree, I am wondering why you are so vehemently against guns.nbsp; Did something happen to you involving a gun?nbsp; I mean this sincerely because you bring up guns often in your posts.

I think the same could be said to someone who is very pro gun. Do you see how a bad experience with one could illicit both responses?

. I do not hunt, I do not target shoot so there is no reason to own a gun. I know you feel differently but guns kill. I don't know where you live but guns are not a part of my culture, even less in my husband's. I would guess that as a group Jews have the lowest percentage of gun ownership.
Why do you like guns so much? Are you the person who once wrote that you wish you could afford to have a gun in every room in your house? I never thought that I would need to explain why don't like guns.

I see this board as representative of the big divide that exists in this country on so many issues, gun control being only one of them. I

This has got to be one of the strangest statements I've ever seen. I would guess that as a group squirrels have the lowest percentage of gun ownership.

Seriously though, can you see that others do use guns responsibly for perfectly reasonable purposes? It's not all black and white. Does something need to change? Absolutely, but getting rid of all guns simply isn't the answer (and neither is everyone packing heat going to help either).

Remember prohibition? See how well that worked out? It would be the same stories with guns. People who hurt others with guns don't care about laws plain and simple.

    .
Are you equating Jews with squirrels?
You have your views, I have mine. Let's just leave it at .

You call me a douche bag and then go on to compare an entire, collective group of people to rodents? Whose the douche bag now. Not saying I'm not, but I think you have me beat.
