I just experienced a hormone induced wave of emotion....for the monthly birth boards, and felt I must share.
I live in rural Dominican Republic-think cows and chickens, not white sand beaches and pretty rum drinks. I am one of three Americans, the others being my husband and daughter, in this village. We only have internet a few days a week, phone calls are hella expensive and honestly, everything is just a little bit harder here. I am very isolated from modern pregnancy fun, companionship, and healthcare. My last pregnancy took place here too and I was a wreck, but the December 2011 board kept me connected and excited about the pregnancy, birth, and baby care. Already this time around it is easier, just the joy of DD keeps the loneliness at bay, but I look forward to checking in on this board every few days and sharing in everyones joy, excitement, and even worries along the way. Thank you in advance for making this an awesome place!
Re: The bump boards keep me sane
I am sorry you have such a rough time where you live.
Welcome to the board! Congrats and best of luck to you!
We work for an organization called COPA that strives to improve health care and education. I made it sound totally negative, but the people are lovely and caring, we love being part of a teeny tiny community, and while they are rocky, we enjoy being close to the beach.
